스테인리스 망을 이용한 도자기 캔버스에 관한 연구

국문 초록

현대의 도예가들은 도판을 현대적인 작품으로 응용하고자 하는 노력을 해왔다. 역사적으로 살펴본다면 도판은 건축재로서 고대시대부터 사용되어 왔으며 현대까지 이어져 왔다. 우리나라에서도 ‘전돌’의 예를 통해 도판을 건축재로 활용한 사례를 살펴 볼 수 있다. 하지만 건축적 목적으로 공장에서 대량생산되는 도판들과 달리 현대예술작품으로 제작 하고자 하는 도판은 소량으로 만들어 사용한다. 만약 잘 깨지거나 갈라져 파손율이 높고 무겁다면 다른 평면예술작품들과 비교했을 때 경쟁력이 떨어질 것이다. 그래서 보다 보완된 도판형태의 개발이 필요하다. 본 논문은 스테인리스라는 물과 열에 강한 소재를 활용한 유화에 캔버스형태와 같은 도판제작에 관한 연구이다. 이 캔버스 형태의 도판에 명칭은 ‘도자기캔버스’이다. 이 도자기캔버스는 건조과정에서 갈라지지 않으며 1250도 고온소성에서도 깨지거나 휘는 현상이 없다. 또 기존에 유약과 안료들을 활용할 수 있어 편리하고 무게가 다른 도판작업들과 비교했을 때 가벼워 만약 누군가 작품을 구매했을 때 유화 작품처럼 액자에 넣어 벽에 쉽게 설치 할 수 있어 부담을 갖지 않아도 된다. 도자기캔버스는 다른 도판작업들과 함께 도예에 있어서 평면예술작품까지 활동의 폭을 넓혀 줄 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

Today, modern ceramic artists have been trying to apply the skill of ceramic tiles to the contemporary ceramic artwork. Historically considered, the ceramic tiles can be traced to the ancient time and have been used as a building material to this day. Several cases of ‘Jeon-do’l(Bricks) using a building material as a ceramic tiles in Korea are also found. However, the art tiles for the purpose of the comtemporary ceramic art works are made in small quantities unlike the tiles for the construction, produced in factories in large quantities. If the damage rate for the ceramic tiles are high because they are very fragile or easily cracked, or the tiles are heavy, that will be insufficiently competitive comparing with the other flat art work. So it needs to be developed as a type of improved ceramic tiles. This paper presents making ceramic tiles using stainless steel resistant to water and heat is about the study. The ceramic tiles of the canvas type is called as Ceramic canvas . It is not cracked in the process of drying, and has a good resistance of cracking and bending at the high temperature of 1250℃. In addition, it is very convenient that all existing glaze and stain can be used to the ceramic paint compared with the existing ceramic tiles which are very light so that someone buy a piece of artwork, very easy to hang it up the wall by putting it into a frame. The ceramic canvas is expected to extend the area of ceramic art with the existing ceramic tiles.
