漢城百濟期 編年 再考

국문 초록

본고의 작성은 파주 주월리유적 출토 왜계 단갑의 역사적 배경을 검토하던 중 기존 편년관에 의문을 품으면서부터 시작되었다. 철제품인 무기·무구의 연구 성과를 원용하여 주월리유적 토기의 연대를 고찰한 결과 4세기 후반에서 5세기 중엽으로 위치지었다. 기존 연대관과는 큰 차이를 나타냄에 따라 연구의 범위를 확대하여 청당동유적 출토품들도 살펴본 결과 3세기 말~4세기 중엽으로 추정할 수 있었다. 여기에서도 기존의 편년안과 상당한 격차를 보였다. 다시 말해 주월리유적의 시간적 위치에 대한 재검토가 시급한 상황이라 할 수 있다. 필자의 연대관을 다른 주요 유적으로 확대하면 적지 않은 문제들이 파생된다. 특히 풍납토성의 축조는 4세기 중엽 이후의 일이 된다. 백제의 국가 성립 시기를 3세기 후반대로 보는 견해를 고수한다면 풍납토성을 그 근거에서 제외시켜야 할 것이고, 성곽 축조를 국가 단계의 필수 요소로 본다면 건국 시점을 늦춰야 할 것이다. 그러한 취지에서 본고는 기존 한성 백제기 편년에 대해 문제를 제기하고 있다.

영문 초록

This study was born with the question of existing view on chronology while looking through historical background of Japanese suits of armor made in iron which were excavated in Juwol-li, Paju. The time of excavated earthenwares were estimated between the late 4th century and the mid 5th century based on the citing achievements of arms and weapons made in iron, which showed a great difference with the existing view on chronology. As the circumstances of Juwol-li was such, it was necessary to clarify current status of other remains. Therefore, the excavated articles from Cheongdang-dong remain were investigated again and the time was turned out to be estimated between the late 3rd century and the mid 4th century, showing a great difference with the existing view on chronology one more time. Thus, it became an urgent situation to reconsider the remains from Juwol-li once again. If this view on chronology is not expanded to other major remains, a few problems will be derived. In specific, the construction of Pungnap Mud Castle should be regarded to occur after the mid 4th century. To keep the view that the time of establishing a nation as Baekje was the late 3rd century, Pungnap Mud Castle should be excluded from their supporting basis. However, if the construction of the Castle is regarded as a required element to form a process of a nation, the time of establishing a nation as Baekje should be delayed. As such, the purpose of this study is to bring out a question of the existing chronology of Hanseong Baekje.
