국문 초록

이 논문에서는 한국, 중국, 미국의 온라인 기업의 조세피난처 자회사 설립의 결정요인에 관해 분석한다. 연구를 위해 사용된 표본은 한국, 중국, 미국의 온라인 상장기업으로 해외자회사를 소유하고 있는 기업을 대상으로 하였다. 모기업의 FDI의 증가가 조세피난처 FDI의 증가에 영향을 미치는지, 금융요인과 무형자산이 조세피난처 FDI와 관련이 있는지 등에 대한 가설을 설정해 검증하였다. 실증분석결과 기업의 FDI 추진실적, 무형자산과 금융실적 등의 기업특유의 자산을 보유한 기업일수록 조세피난처 FDI에 적극적이라는 것을 발견하였다. 또한, 개도국의 좋은 금융성과가 꼭 조세피난처 FDI를 증가시키는 요인이 아니라는 것이 발견되었다. 하지만 기업이 보유하고 있는 현금흐름은 조세피난처 FDI를 예측하는 강력한 변수로 선진국이나 개도국에 적용된다는 사실도 발견하였다.

영문 초록

This paper analyses the determinants of the establishment of tax haven subsidiaries among online MNEs FDI in Korea, China, and the United States. The sample used for this study was Korean, Chinese, and the United States online MNEs which own overseas subsidiaries. Hypotheses were established and tested as to whether the increase in FDI by the parent conmany affects the increase in tax haven FDI and whether financial factors and intangible assets are related to tax haven FDI. The results of the empirical study found that MNEs with firm-specific assets such as intangible assets and financial performance invested actively in tax havens. The study also found that the good financial performance of developing countries is not necessarily a factor in increasing tax haven FDI. However, the cash flow held by a company is a strong variable in predicting tax haven FDI and is applicable to developed and developing countries.
