영유아 인권강사의 인권교육 경험과 개선을 위한 방향 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 영유아 인권강사가 영유아 인권교육을 수행하면서 경험한 내용을 살펴보고 영유아 인권교육의 개선을 위한 방향을 탐색해보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 국가인권위원회 영유아 분야 위촉 인권강사 6명을 대상으로, 영유아 인권교육의 경험과 영유아 인권교육 개선을 위한 방향에 관하여 개방적이며 반구조화된 심층면담이 이루어졌으며 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 영유아 인권강사들은 학습자의 일상으로부터 인권교육이 시작되고 참여형 교육으로 더 효과적인 영유아 인권학습환경이 조성되었고 영유아 인권과 영유아 인권교육에 대한 교사들의 오해를 체감하였으며 실천으로 이어지지 못하는 영유아 인권교육의 한계를 경험하였다. 둘째, 영유아 인권강사들은 부모를 대상으로 하는 인권교육의 활성화와 교육접근의 용이성이 필요하고, 인권옹호자로서 영유아 인권교육의 접근, 다양한 선택이 가능한 영유아 인권교육이 요구되며, 다양한 사회조직과 영유아 인권교육 네트워크 구축이 이루어져야 한다고 보았다. 본 연구는 영유아 인권강사의 경험을 통해 영유아 인권교육에 대한 실제적인 이해를 높이고 개선방향을 제시하는 것에 연구의 의의를 찾을 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the experiences of child rights educators while delivering early child rights education, and to seek the directions for improvement of early child rights education. To this end, the data were collected from semi-structured and in-depth interviews with six early child rights educators appointed by the National Human Rights Commission of Korea, and the collected data were analyzed. The findings are as follows. First, child rights educators experienced that human rights come out from the daily lives of the participants in the human rights education, participatory education promotes more effective human rights learning environment, many ECEC teachers misunderstand early child rights and the educations for early child rights, and there are limitations in early child rights education. Second, the child rights educators suggested some directions for promoting early child rights education that activation and accessibility of the education for parents and approach of early child rights education for adults as human rights defenders from a positive point of view, more various options in such educations, and the establishment of diverse social organizations and network for early child education young children are needed. This study could find the significance in improving the practical understanding of human rights education for young children and suggesting improvement directions through the experiences of early child rights educators.
