국내 학술지 논문의 평생교육참여와 독립변수의 관계에서 발생하는 공통방법변량편의 수준 분석

국문 초록

평생교육참여는 평생교육학에서 주요 연구주제였다. 특히 최근에 와서 평생교육참여에 대한 국내 양적 연구는 꾸준하게 증가하였고, 국가 수준에서의 양적 자료 축적과 활용도 활발해졌다. 하지만 평생교육참여에 대한 양적연구의 증가에 따라 측정의 다양성, 동일측정방법의 적용 등 공통방법변량편의 발생의 원인 역시 함께 증가하였다. 이에 본 연구목적을 국내 평생교육참여 연구의 공통방법변량편의 수준을 분석하는 것으로 설정하였다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위해, 국내 평생교육참여 관련 학술지 게재 논문 85편을 수집하고 812개의 상관계수를 확보하여 분석에 활용하였다. 공통방법변량편의 수준을 분석하기 위해 표시변수방법(MVT)과 방법쌍비교법(MMP)을 활용하였다. 분석결과를 정리하면 첫째, MVT 분석결과에 따르면, 평생교육참여 연구에서 심각한 수준 아니지만, 예의주시해야 할 수준의 공통방법변량편의가 발생하였다. 둘째, 독립변수 범주 간의 MVT 분석결과를 비교하면, 교육프로그램 특성의 공통방법변량편의의 수준이 좀 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, MMP 분석결과, 측정방법에 따라서 공통방법변량편의 수준 차이가 존재할 수 있다는 점이 확인되었다. 이상의 분석결과에 대한 결론과 시사점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Participation in lifelong education was a core issue and consciously had been studied in the field of lifelong education. Especially, quantitative studies had increased in Korea and the nationwide accumulation and utilization of the quantitative date about participation in lifelong education were very active. But as the studies increase, the causes of Common Method Variance Boas (CMVB) in the studies also increased. The purpose of the research was to analyze the level of CMVB in the studies related with participation in lifelong education published in Korean journals. For this purpose, 85 articles and 812 correlational coefficients were collected. And MVT and MMP were used to perform the analyses of CMVB. The results were like this: first, MVT results showed that the CMVB was of considerable level, which could generate overestimation in correlational coefficients. Second, comparing the MVT results according to the categories of independent variables, the level of CMVB in the characteristics of educational program was higher than other categories. Third, according to MMP results, the differences between measurement types were significant. The results supported the CMVB caused by measurement types. Based on these results, conclusions and limits were suggested.
