국문 초록

본 연구는 빈곤의 동태변화와 기혼여성의 전통적 성역할 인식이 우울에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 분석하였다. 한국복지패널의 2007년부터 2017년까지의 기혼여성(N=3,476)을 대상으로 빈곤과 우울의 동태적 관계와 빈곤과 전통적 성역할 인식이 우울에 미치는 영향에 대해 로지스틱 회귀분석을 통해 살펴보았다. 분석 결과 첫째, 빈곤 기혼여성이 비빈곤 기혼여성에 비해 전통적 성역할 인식이 통계적으로 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 비빈곤 기혼여성에 비해 빈곤한 기혼여성이 우울을 경험하는 비율 또한 높았다. 둘째, 빈곤의 동태적 변화에서 지속적 혹은 반복적으로 빈곤을 경험하는 기혼여성이 일시적 빈곤을 경험하거나 빈곤하지 않은 기혼여성에 비해 전통적 성역할 인식을 더 가지고 있으며, 또한 우울을 경험하는 비중도 높았다. 셋째, 로지스틱 회귀분석 결과 우울에 성역할 인식 및 빈곤이 정적인 영향을 주며, 이외에 연령, 배우자 유무, 교육, 경제활동상태, 지역 변수 등이 기혼여성의 우울에 영향을 주었다. 이러한 결과에 근거하여 빈곤한 기혼여성의 안정적 생활을 위한 사회적 돌봄의 강화와 정신건강서비스가 포함된 고용복지서비스 제공에 관해 논하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to analyze the impact of longitudinal change of poverty and perceived gender role on their depression among married women. Utilizing the longitudinal Korea Welfare Panel data of married women(N=3,476) from 2007 to 2017, the regression analysis model was used to examine the dynamic relationship between poverty and depression and the effect of poverty and perceived gender roles on depression. The results show the following. First, poor married women showed statistically significantly higher levels in perceived gender roles than non-poor married women. Also, the rates of poor married women who have experienced depression are higher than those of non-poor married women. Second, compared to married women who experience temporary poverty or non-poverty, those who experience persistence or repeatedly povertyshows higher levels of traditional gender role. They also show higher levels of experiencing depression. Third, as a result of the regression analysis, gender role and poverty are shown to impact married women’s mental health. Other factors that affect married women’s mental health are the presence of a spouse, age, education level, labor market status, and regional variables showing statistical significance in their relationship with married women’s mental health. Based on these findings, the policies regarding strengthening social care for women and providing workfare services, including mental health services, were discussed.
