중소기업의 기술혁신능력이 경영성과에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

기술기반의 기술사업화는 기업가의 내적 역량 뿐만 아니라 개발된 기술을 활용하여 고객의 수요를 충족할 수 있는 사업화와 연계될 수 있도록 제품을 개발, 생산하고 마케팅을 통해 보유기술의 잠재가치를 실현하는 일련의 과정을 총칭한다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 기술혁신형 중소기업을 대상으로 우리나라 중소기업의 기술혁신능력 요인인 기술축적, 기술체계, 연구개발이 경영성과인 제품의 경쟁력향상과 신기술/신제품개발에 미치는 영향을 알아보았으며, 기술사업화능력인 마케팅능력과 제품화능력이 기술혁신능력이 경영성과에 영향을 미치는데 있어 조절효과가 나타나는지를 알아보았으며 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기술혁신을 통한 제품의 경쟁력을 향상시키고 신기술/신제품개발을 하기 위해서 기술혁신 능력요인 중 기술체계보다는 연구개발과 기술축적이 중요한 요인이라는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 중소기업은 연구개발을 통한 기술축적이 제품의 경쟁력을 향상시키고 신기술/신제품을 개발한다고 할 수 있다. 둘째, 기술혁신 능력이 제품의 경쟁력 향상과 신기술/신제품개발인 경영성과에 영향을 미치는데 있어서 기술사업화능력의 조절효과를 알아본 결과, 제품화 능력이나 마케팅 능력은 제품의 경쟁력 향상과 신기술/신제품개발에 영향을 미치는 중요한 요인을 나타났으나 조절효과는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 유용성은 우리나라 중소기업의 기술혁신 전략을 수립하는데 기초적인 정보를 제공하는데 있다고 할 수 있으며, 본 연구의 한계점은 설문을 통한 현장연구(field study)가 공통적으로 안고 있는 추출된 표본의 대표성 문제, 변수측정의 타당성문제, 응답의 불성실로 인한 응답자 편견 등이라고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Technology－based technology commercialization is a series process which realizes the potential value of technology by developing and producing products so that technology can be linked with commercialization in a way that meets customers’ demand by utilizing developed technology as well as internal competence of entrepreneurs. This study examines the effects of technology accumulation, technology system, and research and development, which are factors involved in technology innovation ability of Korean SMEs, on the improvement of competitiveness of new products and new product development. The results of this study are as follows：First, we examined the effects of technological innovation ability on marketing performance and productivity. In order to improve the competitiveness of products through technological innovation and to develop new technology/new products, we confirmed that R&D and technology accumulation are important factors rather than technology system. Therefore, it can be said that SMEs can improve competitiveness of products and development of new technology/new products through R&D. Second, as a result of examining the moderating effects of technological innovation ability in influencing product competitiveness and business performance, it was found that development of new technology/new products and commercialization ability of product can be enhanced by improving product competitiveness and developing new technology/new products, However, there were no control effects found. The usefulness of this study is to provide basic information for establishing technological innovation strategy of Korean SMEs. The limitation of this study is that the field study of survey sample is common. The validity may be open to question due to variable measurement, and the bias of the respondent resulting from insincerity of the responses.
