국문 초록

이수광의 諸子에 대한 인식은 『지봉유설』 권6, <經書部 2>, 諸子 와 『지봉유설』 권7, <경서부 3>, 書籍 제4則에 집중적으로 나타나 있다. 書籍 제4則에서는 제자서 62종의 書名이 나열되어 있는데, 시대와 내용에 따라 분류하려는 의식이 있다. 다만, ‘雜書’와 개념이 혼용된 결과 제자의 범주가 지나치게 넓게 설정되어 있다. 한편 <經書部 2>, 諸子 는 총 50則으로 구성되어 있으며, 여기에서 언급한 제자서는 모두 15종이다. 書籍 이 다양한 제자서를 간략한 형식으로 소개한 것이라면, 諸子 는 제자서 內의 글에 대한 논평이나 어휘에 대해 변증한 것이다. 제자 에서 가장 많이 언급한 책은 『장자』로 총 15칙(서명을 명기하지 않은 1칙 포함)이다. 그 다음은 『회남자』로 총 7칙(중복 1칙 포함)이며, 세 번째는 『노자』로 총 6칙(중복 1칙 포함)이다. 네 번째는 『관자』로 총 4칙이며, 다섯 번째는 『列子』·『文子』·『呂氏春秋』로 각각 총2칙(각각 중복 1칙 포함)이다. 그리고 『黃石公記』·『關尹子』·『公孫文』·『新序』·『說苑』·『法言』·『抱朴子』·『陰符經』이 각 1칙이다. 한편 제30칙의 『文子』는 『申子』의 오기이고 제46칙의 『新序』는 『說苑』의 오기이다. 그리고 제 41칙의 『家語』는 서명이 누락되었고, 제39칙의 ‘稗史’는 『升庵集』을 지칭한다. 제자 에는 제자서의 글에 대한 논평이 가장 많으니 총 19칙이다. 그 다음은 제자서에 사용된 어휘의 의미에 대한 변증이 총15칙, 제자서의 내용에 대한 변증이 총9칙이다. 그리고 제자서의 내용과 老莊·불교, 유학 간의 동이점에 대한 변증이 총 4칙, 위작에 대한 변증이 총 2칙, 제자서의 서명에 대한 변증이 1칙이다. 제자 에는 이수광의 지적 욕망이 잘 드러나 있다. 그는 『方麓集』과 『莊子翼』 등 당시로서는 최신 서적을 입수하여 활용하였으니, 이는 제자서의 문장 해석·논평 및 어휘의 변증에 참신한 견해를 제시하려는 욕망에 기인한 현상이라고 할 수 있다. 이러한 욕망은 문헌에서 인용한 내용을 이수광 자신의 독자적 논평 형식으로 처리한 것에서도 발견된다.

영문 초록

Lee Sugwang s perception of scholars and philosophers are intensively reflected in 『Jibong Yuseol (Topical Discourses of Jibong)』 Vol.6, , Jeja(諸子) and 『Jibong Yuseol』, Vol.7, , and Seojeok(書籍) Chapter 4. There are 62 titles of the books of philosophers listed in the chapter 4 of Seojeok(書籍) , and it seems to have been consciously categorized by the times and contents. But as the concept was used along with miscellaneous books(雜書) , the category of the philosophers and scholars was too extensively set. and Jeja(諸子) are comprised of 50 chapters and the number of the books of philosophers mentioned here is fifteen. It can be said that Seojeok(書籍) introduces various books of philosophers in a brief manner, while Jeja(諸子) demonstrates vocabulary and comments about writings in the book of philosophers. The most-mentioned book in Jeja(諸子) was 『Jangja』, which has 15 chapters in total, including 1 chapter without stating the title. The next one is 『Hoenamja』with 7 chapters in total, including the overlapped 1 chapter, and the third one is 『Noja』 with 6 chapter including the overlapped 1 chapter. The fourth most-mentioned one is 『Gwanja』 with 4 chapters in total, and the fifth one is 『Yeolja(列子)』, 『MunJa(文子)』, and 『Yoessichunchu(呂氏春秋)』 with 2 chapters each, including the overlapped 1 chapter respectively. Hwangseok『gonggi(黃石公記』, 『Gwanyunja(關尹子)』, 『Gongsonmun(公孫文)』, 『Shinseo(新序)』, 『Seolwon(說苑)』, 『Beobeon(法言)』, 『Phobakja(抱朴子)』, and 『Eumbu-geong(陰符經)』 have 1 chapter respectively. 『Munja(文子)』 with 30 chapters is the misspelling of 『Shinja(申子)』, and 『Shinseo(新序)』 with 46 chapters is the misspelling of 『Seolwon(說苑)』. 『Gaeo(家語)』 with 41 chapters is omitted with the book title, and ‘Paesa(稗史)’ with 39 chapters refers of 『Seungamjip (升庵集)』. Jeja(諸子) has the most comments, 19 chapters in total, about the writings within the books of philosophers. Then, there are 15 chapters of demonstrations about the meaning of vocabulary used in the books of philosophers, and 9 chapters of demonstrations about the contents of the books of philosophers. There are also 4 chapters of demonstrations about the similarities and differences between Nojang(老莊), Buddhism, and Confucianism, and the contents of the books of philosophers, and two demonstrations about pseudograph of the books of philosophers, and 1 demonstration about the titles of the books of philosophers. Lee Sugwang s intellectual appetite is well reflected in Jeja(諸子) . He procured and made good use of the latest books of his time, such as 『Bangrokjip(方麓集)』 and 『Jangjaik(莊子翼)』, and this seems to be attributed to his intellectual desire to suggest a novel view on the demonstration of vocabulary, and sentence interpretation and comments of the books of philosophers. This is also well shown in the way to treat the quotes from literature in his own distinctive commenting manner.
