『嶠南賓興錄』의 판본과 御考 科賦 試券에 대한 小考

국문 초록

『賓興錄』은 正祖代에 설행된 지방 별시의 전말을 기록하고 입격한 試券을 수록한 자료이다. 6종의 『빈흥록』 중 『嶠南賓興錄』에는 정조의 御考를 거친 영남 儒生의 우수 科賦 작품이 수록되어 있으며, 批點이 판각된 판본이 존재한다. 이 연구에서는 『교남빈흥록』의 판종을 살피고 御考 批點을 토대로 優等 試券에 나타난 정조의 科賦 평가 기준을 살폈다. 『교남빈흥록』은 권2 御考優等試券 까지 수록된 판본과 여기에 陶山試士壇碑銘 · 頖村致祭時日記 를 追刻하여 부록으로 넣은 판본이 있다. 부록이 추가된 판본과 1792년에 판각된 판본은 구성뿐만 아니라 批點의 형태도 차이를 보인다. 우등 시권에서 批點의 위치는 구절의 2·3·5 字마다 찍혀 있으나, 특정 글자에 국한된 것이 아니라 句 자체에 매겨진 것으로 생각된다. 『교남빈흥록』의 御考優等試券 에는 姜世白·金熙洛·金象九·曺深이 작성한 科賦 4편이 실려 있다. 네 사람 모두 30句로 구성된 科賦를 지었으며, 각 句의 4번째 자마다 虛辭를 넣어 6言 科賦의 형식을 준수하였다. 典故 또한 거의 모든 구마다 인용되었는데 三上의 성적을 얻은 姜世白·金熙洛의 시권에는 試題와 동일한 출처의 전고가 빈번하게 쓰였다. 三中의 성적을 얻은 金象九·曺深은 말미에 4言의 亂辭를 넣어 姜世白·金熙洛의 답안과 형식적인 차이를 보였으며, 亂辭 부분에서 정조의 批點을 전혀 획득하지 못하였다. 4언 亂辭의 활용으로 인해 조선 후기 科賦가 요구하는 6언의 規式에서 이탈하게 되는데, 批點을 통해 정조 또한 科賦에 亂辭의 출입을 달갑게 여기지 않았음을 짐작할 수 있다.

영문 초록

A binheungrok(賓興錄) is a book that contains details of local byulsi(a type of public officer test held for special occasions in Joseon Dynasty) held in Jeongjo era and the selected si-gwon(試券, answers). Among the six types of binheungrok, Gyonam Binheungrok(嶠南賓興錄) contains outstanding works of gwabu(科賦, rhymed pieces written for public officer exams) by yusaeng(儒生)s from the Yeong-nam region, that were directly reviewed by the king(eo-go, 御考). Unlike other binheungroks, bi-jeom(批點, marks left by the reviewer)s are engraved in some versions of Gyonam Binheungrok. This study reviews the versions of “Gyonam Binheungrok” and analyzes the evaluation criteria used by Jeongjo, based on the bi-jeoms he left on the selected answers. There is a Gyonam Binheungrok(嶠南賓興錄) version that includes the second book titled “Eo-go-udengsigwon(御考優等試券, selected works reviewed by the king).” There is another version of “Gyonam Binheungrok(嶠南賓興錄)” that contains the additional appendix with the engraved “Dosansisadanbimyeong(陶山試士壇碑銘)” and banchonchijesiilgi(頖村致祭時日記). Compared to the version that was made in the year 1792, the version with the appendix not only has a different structure, but also contains bi-jeoms with different shapes due to the engraving of the bi-jeoms. In the book of selected works, the bi-jeoms are left at the second, third, and fifth letters in certain phrases, but it is thought to have been left to indicate the phrase, not the letter. The Eo-go-udengsigwon(御考優等試券) of Gyonam Binheungrok contains four gwabu(科賦)s written by Kang Se-baek(姜世白), Kim Hee-rak(金熙洛), Kim Sang-gu(金象九), and Jo Shim(曺深). Each wrote a gwabu(科賦) with 30 phrases. Each phrase contains heo-sa(虛辭, function word) as the fourth letter and consists of six words(6言), following the typical structure of gwabu(科賦). Almost every phrase contains jeon-go(典故, reference from the classics), and Kang Se-baek(姜世白) and Kim Hee-rak(金熙洛), who got sam-sang(三上) grade, quoted from the same reference that was used in the prompt. Kim Sang-gu(金象九) and Jo Shim(曺深), who got sam-jung(三中) grade, each added a four-word nan-sa(亂辭, a statement summarizing a big idea) at the end, which distinguishes the structure of their works from the works by Kang Se-baek(姜世白) and Kim Hee-rak(金熙洛). None of these nan-sa(亂辭)s won Jeongjo’s bi-jeom. The utilization of nan-sa(亂辭) makes their work sway from the six-word(6言) format that was required in gwabu(科賦) in the late Joseon Dynasty, and the lack of bi-jeoms shows that Jeongjo didn’t like nan-sa(亂辭)s in gwabu(科賦)s.
