국문 초록

본 연구는 지금까지 학계에 보고되지 않았던 瓢翁 宋英耈(1556∼1620)의 한시를 대상으로 그 예술적 성취를 조명한 것이다. 연구의 방법은 표옹 송영구의 한시 작품을 대상으로 ‘공간의 표현’이라는 척도를 분석의 도구로 사용하였다. 표옹 송영구의 한시를 놓고, 공간 의식의 내용이 무엇이냐에 주목하기보다는 공간 의식을 어떻게 표현하고 있느냐에 주목하여 그 예술성을 분석하였다. 또한 작품 분석에 앞서 저자의 생애를 개괄적으로 소개하였고, 『표옹유고』의 시문 수록 면모 및 시기별 작품 수량을 살핌으로써 상당 분량의 한시 작품이 유실되었음을 확인하였다. 표옹 송영구는 한시 창작에 관심을 집중하여 예술성이 뛰어난 작품을 짓고자 힘을 쏟았던 전문 시인은 아니었다. 기본적으로 청렴결백한 자세로 맡은 바 직무에 정성심을 잃지 않으려 노력했던 행정가였다. 표옹은 시를 지어야 할 상황이 되었을 때 시를 창작하면서도 잘 지으려 기교를 부리지 않고 솔직하게 정서를 토로하였다. 그리하여 진정성에 바탕하여, 장소 ‘이곳’만을 집중적으로 표현하면서 공간 ‘저곳’을 심층에 묻어두기도 하였고, ‘이곳’의 공간을 벗어나 ‘저곳’의 장소만을 집중적으로 표현하기도 하였다. 그리고 때로는 현실의 장소 ‘이곳’과 이상의 공간 ‘저곳’을 자유로이 넘나들며 절묘한 조화를 이루도록 표현함으로써 예술성이 빼어난 명편들을 창작하기도 하였다.

영문 초록

This study focuses on the artistic achievement of Pyo-ong Song Yeong-gu’s (1556~1620) Chinese poetry, which has not been reported in academic circles until now. As for the study methodology, this study used the scale of ‘expression of space’ as a tool of analysis on the subject of Pyo-ong Song Yeong-gu s Chinese poetry works. For Pyo-ong Song Yeong-gu s Chinese poetry, this study analyzed its artistic characteristics, by paying attention to how to express space consciousness, rather than paying attention to what the content of space consciousness is. Before analyzing his works, this study introduced the author s life in general, and confirmed that a significant amount of Chinese poetry works have been lost by examining the amount of poetry and prose in Pyo-ong s Posthumous Works and the number of pieces by period. Pyo-ong Song Yeong-gu was not a professional poet who focused his efforts on creating Chinese poetry and devoted himself to building artistic works. Basically, he was an administrator who tried not to lose his sincerity to his duties in an innocent posture of integrity. When Pyo-ong was in a situation where poetry was to be created, as he was writing his poetry, he did not apply skills to build well but he addressed his emotions honestly. Therefore, based on authenticity, he concentrated on the place ‘here’ and would bury the space ‘deep’ in depth, or sometimes concentrate on only the place of ‘there’ outside the space of ‘here’. And sometimes he would create works that showed great artistry by expressing them in an exquisite harmony freely crossing ‘here’ the real place and ‘there’ the ideal space.
