이상 시의 양자역학적 독법 가능성

국문 초록

이 글은 이상 시의 양자역학적 독법 가능성을 처음으로 제기하는 데 의의가 있다. 이상이 문학수업을 받은 경력이 전혀 없는 이공계 출신의 작가임에도 그간 대부분의 연구들이 문학 전공자들에 의해 이루어져온 문제가 있었다. 그의 시 가운데 상당히 많은 부분이 이공계 교양을 바탕으로 하고 있어 치열한 선행 연구의 누적에도 불구하고 그의 텍스트는 여전히 악명 높은 난독에서 벗어났다고 보기 힘들다. 그럼에도 특히 수학과 상대성이론으로 접근을 한 일련의 시도들이 있었다. 그 결과 새로운 각도에서 이상 연구는 지평을 열었고, 본 연구는 그러한 지평의 한 지점을 양자역학으로 삼고 있다. 양자역학은 1900~1920년대에 상대성이론에 비해 비주류 과학이었지만, 이상에게 있어 에스프리를 표출하는 새로운 돌파구의 이론적 토대가 되어 주었다고 추정된다. 이 글은 양자역학의 원리를 제시하고 그 이론이 적용되었으리라 추정되는 이상 시를 인용했다. 본 연구는 이 과정에서 이상이 양자역학을 인지하고 있었다는 가능성을 주어진 분량의 범위 안에서 내재적 비평에 국한하여 타진하고 있다. 양자역학을 인지하지 않고는 결코 표현될 수 없는 이상 시의 여러 예들을 통해 이상의 5차원적 시각을 이해하고 그러한 이해를 바탕으로 마지막 단계에서는 이상의 대표작 ｢오감도 시제일호(烏瞰圖 詩第一號)｣의 새로운 면모를 밝힌다. 이상이 자신의 대표작으로 자부했던 이 작품에 우리가 미처 인지하지 못한 감춰진 가능성을 진단하는 것은 이 글의 목적을 달성하기 위한 매우 유의미한 작업이 될 것이다. 본 연구는 이러한 실험적 분석의 토대가 양자역학이 될 수 있다는 새로운 문제 제기에 초점을 맞추었다.

영문 초록

This paper is meaningful in that it presents for the first time the possibility of reading the poems by Yi Sang in terms of quantum mechanics. Yi Sang is an author of natural sciences and engineering, not having taken any lessons on literature. In spite of that, most studies on Yi Sang have been carried out by literature majors. As a good number of his poems have the basis of knowledge on the natural sciences and engineering, his texts are notorious for the difficulty in reading and understanding. With all the difficulties, there has been a series of accesses through math and the theory of relativity. As a result, a new ground was reclaimed on which his poems can be interpreted, and this paper interprets the poems by Yi Sang through the ground of quantum mechanics. Quantum mechanics was non-mainstream in 1900 – 1920 in comparison with the theory of relativity, but it is assumed that quantum mechanics was the theoretical foundation of the new breakthrough for expressing e`spirit. This paper presents the principles of quantum mechanics and quotes the poems by Yi Sang that the principles were applied to. In the course of that, this paper tries to find the possibility that Yi Sang knew quantum mechanics. By many examples in the poems by Yi Sang which cannot be expressed without recognition of quantum mechanics, this paper tries to understand the five-dimensional perspective, and on such a ground, shows the new aspect of ‘Ogamdo: Poem number one,’ a masterpiece of his. This paper is to find out a new possibility in the poem, which Yi Sang is very proud of as his masterpiece, and furthermore, presents the possibility that the poems by Yi Sang can be analyzed by quantum mechanics.
