저항이라는 윤리

국문 초록

본고는 정치권력에 대한 저항이라는 관점에서 김학철의 <20세기의 신화>를 고찰하여 이 작품이 중국의 반우파투쟁과 대약진 운동이라는 개별성과 특수성의 역사로부터 국가 권력에 대한 순응와 저항이라는 보편성의 차원의 문제를 드러내고 있다는 점을 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위해 우선 ‘20세기의 신화’라는 제목이 나치스의 전체주의 이데올로기와 관련성을 지니고 있다는 점을 논증하고 모택동의 개인숭배 체제의 메커니즘이 정치권력의 이데올로기적 호명과 주체의 응답을 통한 이데올로기적 동일화라는 것을 밝혔다. 아울러 작품에서 모택동 공산당의 정치권력이 행한 반우파투쟁, 대약진운동 등에 대한 분노와 비판이 어떻게 정치권력에 대한 저항으로까지 이어지게 되는가를 분석하였다. 그 결과 불의에 대한 분노의 정동, 공산주의자들의 우정, 그리고 진정한 공산주의자에 대한 이상과 공산주의자의 윤리라는 보편성이 ‘사이비공산주의자’를 비판하는 거울이 되고 수동성을 넘어서서 저항으로 나아가는 등불이 되었음을 밝혔다. 이러한 고찰을 통해서 본고는 이 작품에 대한 이제까지의 평가가 수정되어야 할 필요성을 제기하였다. <20세기의 신화>는 단지 모택동의 개인숭배에 대한 비판, 반우파투쟁과 대약진운동에 대한 비판을 제시하는 데에 머무는 작품이 아니기 때문이다. 물론 중국의 역사라는 개별성의 차원에서 볼 때 이 작품은 중국 역사에 대한 비판적 기록이라는 의의를 지니고 있을 것이다. 그러나 보다 큰 의의는 중국 현대사라는 개별성을 넘어서는 보편성의 차원을 내포하고 있다는 점에 있다. <20세기의 신화>는 권력의 이데올로기적 지배의 메커니즘과 그에 대응하는 국민/인민의 수동성과 저항의 문제를 제시함으로써 알랭 바디우가 말한 ‘내재적 예외’의 보편적 지점을 드러낸 작품이다.

영문 초록

This paper examines Kim Hak-cheol s The Myth of the 20th Century from the perspective of resistance to political power. From the history of the individuality and specificity of China s anti-right struggle and the Great Leap Forward movement that appears in this work, I tried to shed light on the problem of the universality of conformity to and resistance to state power. To this end, it is first demonstrated that the title of The Myth of the 20th Century has relevance to the totalitarian ideology of the Nazis, and that the mechanism of cult of personality, Mao is ideological identification through the ideological interpellation of political power and the response of the subject. In addition, I analyzed how the affect of anger and criticism of the Mao Zedong Communist Party s political power against the anti-right struggle and the Great Leap Forward can lead to resistance to the political power. As a result, it was revealed that the universality of affect of anger at injustice, the friendship and solidarity of communists, and the ideal of a true communist and communist ethics became a mirror for criticizing pseudo-communists and a beacon for moving beyond passivity to resistance. Through these considerations, this paper raised the need to revise the evaluation of this work so far. This is because The Myth of the 20th Century is not a work that merely presents a critique of personal worship forward Mao, the anti-right struggle and the Great Leap Forward. Of course, from the standpoint of the individuality of Chinese history, this work will have the significance of being a critical record of Chinese history. However, the greater significance lies in the fact that it contains a dimension of universality beyond the individuality of modern Chinese history. This work reveals the universal points of Alain Badiou s intrinsic exception in that it presents the mechanism of the ideological domination of power and the corresponding problem of passivity/resistance of the people.
