고교학점제에 대한 해외 인식조사

국문 초록

본 연구는 고교학점제 도입을 위한 교육과정 재구조화 방안을 탐색하기 위하여 우리나라의 학점제와 유사한 교육 시스템을 운영하고 있는 유럽의 덴마크, 아일랜드, 스웨덴의 고등학교 교육과정의 편성과 운영을 분석하고 학점제 도입 시 발생할 수 있는 다양한 사안들에 대한 해결책을 해당 국가의 문제해결 경험을 통해 도출하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 해당 국가의 고등학교 학사력, 필수와 선택 과목의 비율, 선택 과목의 종류, 졸업의 결정 주체 및 기준, 최소 이수 학점 및 시간 수, 과목별 이수 조건, 미도달자 대책, 대안적 과목의 개설 등의 이슈에 대한 설문지를 개발하여 각국의 교육전문가, 고등학교 교사, 학생, 학부모를 대상으로 설문조사와 심층면담을 실시하였다. 설문조사 결과에 따르면, 학점제 도입 시 필수 과목과 선택 과목의 비율 조정, 학생들의 과목 선택을 지원하는 방안 구축, 다양한 선택 과목 개설뿐만 아니라 양질의 과목 개설의 중요성, 졸업 자격 결정 주체와 졸업 기준의 상세화, 미도달자에 대한 구체적인 대책 마련 등의 시사점을 도출하였으며 이는 향후 고교학점제의 본격적인 시행을 위한 정책 수립과 추진에 필요한 실증적 자료로 활용될 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the high school systems of 3 European countries, Denmark, Ireland, and Sweden in areas such as school days of a year, the decision criteria of graduation, the minimum number of credits and the number of hours, establishment of national level curriculum, the type of high school, etc. Researchers visited Denmark, Ireland, and Sweden, in order to observe their curricula and secure references because they need to suggest measures for restructuring curriculum for the Korean credit system. Through these visits, the researchers explored the problem-solving methods of these countries in order to collect data as well as learn their know-how of how to solve the problems that we may encounter in the introduction of their credit systems. In order to gather diverse opinions, researchers conducted surveys and in-depth interviews with 60 participants including teachers, professors, and supervisors and students and parents. The result showed that ① all of these countries operate the credit system in their high schools. ② The definitions of the credits differed from country to country. ③ In these countries, requirements for graduation requested the minimum number of credits or the graduation test and sometimes both of them. ④ The factor that determines the total number of class hours is number of class rather than class days. ⑤ Most countries do not count non-subjects in their credits. ⑥ In Sweden and Denmark, the minimum requirement hours for graduation are different for each school or program. Through these visits to Denmark, Ireland, and Sweden, this study obtained meaningful data that could lead to the improvement of anticipated problems and issues related to the introduction of a revised Korean credit system.
