국문 초록

이 글에서는 학습독자의 서사 읽기에 관여하는 담론적 장치로서 알레고리에 주목하여, 알레고리의 구현 원리와 효과를 밝혔다. 또한 이러한 알레고리 읽기가 서사교육에 갖는 의의를 논의하였다. 알레고리가 학습독자에게 작용하는 원리는 첫째, 말해진 것을 통해 말해진 것이 전부 혹은 진실이 아니라는 것을 인식하게 하여, 말해지지 않은 부분을 추론할 수 있게 한다. 둘째, 말해지지 않은 것의 의미를 해석하고 자기화는 과정을 통해 학습독자가 자신을 성찰하는 메타적 인식을 할 수 있게 한다. 학습독자의 알레고리 읽기 과정은 알레고리의 구현 양상을 탐색하고, 그 의미를 이해하는 발견적 읽기에서 시작된다. 그리고 학습독자의 알레고리 읽기는 자신의 가치와 세계관을 성찰하고 재구성하며, 텍스트에 대한 새로운 이해를 생산하는 비평적 읽기를 지향한다. 또한 학습독자는 알레고리에 대한 이해와 해석을 통해 말해진 것이 아닌 말해지지 않은 삶의 비밀과 다성성을 탐색하여, 자신의 삶을 성찰하고 새로운 삶을 설계하는 구성적 읽기를 수행한다. 학습독자의 알레고리 읽기 체험이 서사교육에 갖는 의의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 담론적 장치로서 알레고리는 서사 텍스트를 보다 다층적으로 이해할 수 있게 한다. 둘째, 알레고리는 숨겨진, 말해지지 않은 삶의 보편적 진실에 대한 심화된 이해를 가능하게 한다. 셋째, 알레고리에 의해 구현된 말해지지 않은 진실을 이해하기 위해 학습독자는 알레고리의 환유적 구현 원리를 인식하게 된다. 넷째, 알레고리는 학습독자가 말해진 것을 통해 말해지지 않은 것을 비판할 수 있게 한다. 다섯째, 담론적 장치로서 알레고리에 대한 이해는 학습독자의 문학 읽기 경험을 확장해준다.

영문 초록

This paper examined the embodiment pinciple and the effect of an allegory, attending the allegory concerning the reader s narrative reading as a discoursic tools. The priniple of an allegory operating the reader, the first, makes the reader reason the not-said, recognize the said is not the all or the truth through the said. The second, makes the reader recognize himself cognitively with self-reflection through interpreting the sense of an not-said and making it as his poession. The reader s reading process of an allegory begins in discovering reading searching the embodiement look, and understanding the sense. And the reader s reading of an allegory reflects and reconstructs his worth and world view, intends critical reading producing new cpmprehension about the text. Also, the reader searchs not the said but the not-said secret and the plurality of the life through the understanding and the interpretation about an allegory. The learning-reader s reading experiences of an allegory have the significance as an next in the narrative teaching. The first, an allegory as an discoursic tool makes the reader understand the narrative text more pluralily. The second, an allegory makes the reader understand more deeply about the secreted, not-said universal truth of the life. The third, the learning-reader recognizes the metonymic embodiment princile of an allegory for the understanding not-said truth represented by an allegory. The fourth, an allegory makes an learning-reader expands the literary reading experiences through the understanding about an allegory as a discoursic tools.
