숨은 하나님 관념을 통한 빅뱅 우주론과 ‘무로부터의 창조’ 교리의 대화

국문 초록

본 논문은 빅뱅 우주론과 빅뱅 우주론이 기반을 두고 있는 보다 근본적인 이론들 사이의 경계에서 발견되는 우발성과 도달 불가능성에 초점을 맞추어서 빅뱅 우주론과 무로부터의 창조 교리가 어떻게 상호작용할 수 있는지를 탐구한다. 우주에 ‘t=0’으로 표현되는 시간의 시작점이 있었으며 이것이 우주가 신에 의해 창조되었다는 그리스도교의 신념과 관련성을 지닌다고 널리 받아들여져 온 반면에, 호킹의 무경계 제안은 t=0에 특이점이 존재하지 않을 수도 있음을 제시함으로써 ‘무로부터의 창조’ 교리에 도전을 가져온다. 이에 대해 로버트 러셀은 우발성이라는 철학적 개념을 사용하여 t=0의 존재 여부와 상관없이 빅뱅 우주론과 ‘무로부터의 창조’ 사이에 다리를 놓을 수 있다고 주장한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 다리를 두 가지 방식으로 확장한다. 영문 초록

This article explores the creative mutual interaction between Big Bang cosmology and creation ex nihilo by focusing on the contingency and the unreachability found on the boundaries between Big Bang cosmology and the underlying theories from which it originates. While it has been widely agreed that the universe had a beginning of time designated ‘t=0’ and that t=0 apparently points to some level of affinity with the Christian idea that the universe was created by God, Hawking’s no-boundary proposal suggests that there might be no singularity at t=0 challenging the affinity to creation ex nihilo. In response to this challenge, Robert Russell claims that a bridge can be constructed between Big Bang cosmology and creation ex nihilo using the philosophical concept of contingency regardless of the existence of t=0. In this article, the bridge is broadened in two ways: (1) by illuminating new elements of contingency arising from the boundaries between theories in physics; and (2) by introducing the concept of unreachability that can be found both in the standard Big Bang theory and in the theology of the cross and its concept of the hidden God. Furthermore, the emergence of the Big Bang universe with its quantum mechanical nature suggests that creation ex nihilo should be accompanied by creatio continua because the divine creation continues throughout the history of our universe. This is in consonance with the early behavior of our universe and the anthropic principle, and this consonance provides a clue for a future-oriented work involving continuing creation.
