활기찬 노년기를 위한 교육생태학적 관점의 기독교교육

국문 초록

2018년 통계청 조사에 따르면 우리나라 65세 이상 인구는 14.3%로 유엔이 정하는 고령사회 기준을 상회하는 수준이다. 이미 우리나라는 고령사회로 진입하였고 예측하는 바처럼 초고령사회로 빠르게 가고 있다. 고령사회에 대한 예측은 이미 여러 조사에 의하여 진행된 바이나 중요한 것은 유럽사회에서는 70-100년에 걸쳐 이루어진 변화가 우리사회는 20-30년에 급속하게 이루어지고 있다는 점이다. 급속한 변화 속에서 우리는 고령사회 대한 사회적인 준비를 제대로 하지 못한 채 맞이하였다. 2018년 통계청이 다른 때와 달리 조사한 ‘활기찬 고령지표’에서 볼 수 있는 것처럼 고령인구의 수준, 생활, 활동은 예전과 달라졌음에도 불구하고 사회적인 인프라나 문화, 교육 등은 이를 따라가지 못하고 있다. 인터넷을 할 수 있는 고령인구가 60%를 넘어가고 있고, 신체는 건강하고 일을 하고자 하는 요구 및 사회 참여의 능력들은 증가하고 있는데 이를 수용하거나 통전적으로 발전시킬 수 있는 기회는 그리 많지 않은 것이다. 이러한 문제점에서 출발하여 본 논문에서는 활기찬 노년을 준비하는 기독교교육에 관하여 논하였다. 이를 위하여 달라진 노년기를 이해하기 위하여 교육생태학적 관점에서 접근하고자 하였다. 먼저 노년교육의 의미와 방향을 살펴보고, 노년기에 대한 간학문적 접근으로 사회적, 심리적 차원을 살펴보았다. 이를 통하여 노년기에 대한 선입견이나 편견을 넘어 긍정적 차원에서 노년기를 바라보는 새로운 이해를 도모하였다. 그리하여 노년교육이 노년에 의한, 노년을 위한, 노년의 교육으로서 노년을 단순히 수혜자나 학습자로 보는 것이 아닌 학습자이면서 동시에 교육자 일 수 있고, 문화의 전달자로서, 지혜의 전수자로서 정체성을 가질 수 있도록 하는 교육의 방향을 제시하였다. 이를 근거로 학습생태계안에서 구성되는 교육, 몸에 대한 비판적 성찰로서의 교육, 인지적 차원의 유연성을 담보하는 창조적 교육, 소명의 재발견으로서의 일에 대한 교육 삶의 새로운 의미의 동반자로서 관계교육, 영적 안녕을 추구하는 신앙생활을 위한 교육으로 전인적이며 활기찬 노년기를 보낼 수 있도록 하는 통전적 기독교교육의 방향을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

According to a 2018 Census Bureau survey, Korea s 65-year-old and older population is 14.3%, above the aging society standard set by the United Nations. Korea has already entered aging society, and as expected, it is rapidly moving to highly aging society. Predictions for the aging society have already been made by several surveys, but it is important to note that the changes that have taken place in European society over 70-100 years are rapidly occurring in our society in 20-30 years. This rapidly changing phenomenon we met with poor social preparation for aging society has become our reality. Like the ``Vigorous Elderly Indicators surveyed by the National Statistical Department in 2018, the life and activities of the elderly population have changed, but social infrastructure, culture, and policies cannot keep up. The elderly population over the use of internet is over 60%, the body is healthy, the demand for work and the ability to participate in society are increasing, and there is not much opportunity to accept or develop it. Starting from these problems, this paper discusses the Christian education that prepares for old aged people. First of all, this essay attempts to make a Christian educational suggestions that enable the elderly in our society to live a vibrant and energetic life. To this end, we examined the meaning and direction of old age education, and examined the social and psychological dimensions of old age, and aimed for a new understanding of old age from a positive level beyond prejudice or preconception. Thus, education for old age is not only a beneficiary or learner of old age, but also a learner and an educator, and a communicator of culture and an identity as a communicator of wisdom. We looked at that education structured in the learning ecosystem, education as a critical reflection on the body, creative education assuring cognitive flexibility, education about work as a rediscovery of vocation, relational education and spiritual well-being are pursued as partners in a new meaning of life. I suggested the direction of holistic Christian education in order to spend whole and energetic old age as an education for religious life.
