영상미디어 시대의 포스트모던 기독교 성인 교육

국문 초록

본 연구는 일상의 보수주의를 가장 잘 드러내주는 ‘강남의 보수주의’를 상징적으로 보여주는 드라마 「청담동 앨리스」에 나타난 ‘앨리스 증후군’을 중심으로 88만원세대 혹은 2030세대와 포스트모더니즘의 특징을 살펴보고, 기독교 성인 교육의 관점에서 재해석을 시도할 것이다. 또한 본 연구는 포스트모더니즘 시대의 영상문화의 영향력에 대하여 살펴볼 것이다. 본 논문은 영상미디어 시대의 드라마 속의 인문학을 살펴봄으로써 성인 모색기의 ‘사유’의 방식을 검토하겠다. 드라마 「청담동 앨리스」에 나타난 ‘앨리스 증후군’에 대한 사회, 심리학적 이해를 통해서 기독교 성인 교육에 대한 가능성을 탐색하는 것은 중요하다. 본 연구가 한국교회의 기성세대를 크게 세 층위로 나누어 본다면, 건설세대·노인세대(Builder Generation), 부머세대·X세대(Boomer Generation), 버스트 세대(Buster Generation), N세대(Net Generation)이다. 그러나 드라마 「청담동 앨리스」를 통해서 미래세대를 N세대 즉, ‘신세대’라고 말하기엔 그 특성을 모두 설명하기 어렵다. 따라서 ‘성인 모색기’라는 미래세대에 대한 규정은 교회공동체 구성원을 이해하는 데 도움을 준다. 교회교육이 ‘성인 모색기’를 이해해야 하고 교육을 위한 대안을 탐색해야 하는 주된 이유는 그들에 대한 이해가 역사적, 언어적, 문화적 상황들에 대한 이해이기 때문이다. 본 연구는 성인 모색기란 20세에서부터 30세 정도의 연령층이라고 규정하고, 이들은 자신의 신체적 정체성과 현실적 삶의 정황의 간극 속에서 갈등하고 있다고 본다. 최근 들어 교육기간의 연장, 결혼과 출산 연령의 고령화 및 고령화 인구시대라는 새로운 사회적 구조의 변화는 20대를 더 이상 성인기로 규정하는 전통적인 시각에 대해 의문을 제기한다. 교회공동체는 미래세대를 위해서 성인 모색기에 대한 이해와 교육에 더욱 집중해야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The goal of this study is suggest the possibility of Christian educa-tion for ‘Emerging Adulthood’ learned from the postmodern media values by analyzing the drama ‘Chongdamdong Alice’. This study fo-cuses on the influence of the humanities related the drama mentioned above. Furthermore, This paper also is to clarify the characteristics of ‘emerging adulthood’ from that drama which can be a motive power of our Christian community. First of all, the paper criticizes entertainment storytelling, consu-merism, and neoconservatism on the basis of media culture from the drama. Secondly, this paper deals with the symptomatic interpretation of emerging adulthood in fantastic narratives and Todd’s syndrome (or Alice syndrome). In this paper, I examine the drama ‘Chongdamdong Alice’ in terms of ‘cultural contents’ related to entertainment story-telling. I believe that Christian educators must learn from how to deal with cultural contents by analyzing storytelling, the humanities, and Christian connotation. Thirdly, this paper explores the significance of mini-narratives and Christian identity learned form Caputo’s postmodern idea of un-decidability. Undecidability is “the condition that antedates, pro-vokes, permeates, and follows upon decision.” Undecidability con-tributes to a life of decision-making. The postmodern rejection of universal rationality and meta-narra-tives in favor of particular stories may appear to be a welcome devel-opment as possibilities of de-westernization. Nevertheless, many al-leged postmodern pedagogies still operate within, and are fueled by, unacceptable modern dualities. Because the older generations - the Builder and Boomer Generations have their value systems and faith based on meta-narratives of the Korean Christian doctrines, they can-not understand and adjust to the paradigm shift in culture and society that marks the postmodern era. The understanding of generations and postmodernism is very important for the Christian family and church because this understanding is inextricably an understanding of those historical, linguistic, and cultural contexts that must inform any successful pedagogy. With Caputo’ idea of undecidability in mind, we as Christian edu-cators can better engage the ethical responsibilities that postmoder-nism bestows on us and offer the conceptual resources for bridging the gap between emerging adulthoods and older generations.
