한국교회 성장을 위한 기독교교육적 방안 모색

국문 초록

본 논문은 한국교회의 현 상황을 위기적 현상으로 보고 이에 대한 기독교교육적 개선방안을 모색함에 연구의 목적이 있다. 주지하는 대로 한국교회는 한국사회의 근대화에 주도적 역할을 하여 국 내외적으로 긍정적 평가를 받아왔고, 선교 I세기만에 경이적 성장을 이룩한 교회이다. 그러나 한국교회는 사회가 다원화, 전문화, 과학화 되어 가는 현대사회 구조 속에서 위기현상에 직면해 있다. 이 같은 관점에서 본 논고에서는 한국교회의 위기발생 요인을 기독교 인구의 감소, 반기독교 세력의 확산, 복음계승의 단절현상 등을 중심으로 한국교회의 현 실태를 위기적 측면에서 조명해 보았다. 그 이유는 일반적으로 인식하고 있는 것처럼 이 같은 요인들이 무엇보다도 한국교회 성장에 우선적으로 해결해야 할 선결요인으로 인식하고 있기 때문이다. 이러한 현 한국교회의 영적현상을 개선할 수 있는 방안 모색을 위해 포스트모더니즘 영향에서도 지속적으로 성장하여 건강한 교회로서의 메트릭스(matrix)를 제공하고 있는 미국의 윌로크릭 교회의 성장 연구 사례를 살펴보았다. 이는 기독교교육 현장인 신앙공동체의 지속적인 영적변화를 추구함과, 신앙교육 상황파악의 효과적인 방법의 적용과, 교회구성원의 영적상태를 분석하여 그에 따른 적용 가능한 방안을 유출할 수 있을 것으로 판단되었기 때문이다. 이 같은 연구가 교회교육 현장에 요구되는 것은 기독교교육의 역할이 한국교회의 성장을 지속적으로 조력할 수 있는 학문적 성향을 가져야 하기 때문이다. 본 연구를 통하여 주일교회학교의 교육구조 개선, 교육목회적 개선 방안으로서의 맞춤양육, 공적 신앙 형성을 위한 신앙지도 전문인 육성 등을 제안하였다. 이러한 유형의 연구가 구체화 될 경우 한국교회의 성장을 위한 방안수립 뿐만 아니라 기독교교육의 학문적 연구와 신앙교육 현장과의 관련성 모색에도 유의미한 결과가 도출될 것으로 예견되어진다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this research is to seek Christian educational reform programs in the era of the crisis of the Korean church. As we know Korean churches have been grown amazingly for the last 100 years and have been appraised positively to do the prime role in the modernization of the Korean society. However, Korean churches are confronting huge crisis with society’s change to the pluralistic, specialized, and scientific one. From this point of view this research tried to find out the reasons of the Korean churches’s crisis and evaluate contemporary conditions. The author considers the crisis of the Korean church comes from the decreasing of Christian members, dissemination of the anti-Christian group, and discontinuation of the spreading Gospel. To improve the contemporary Korean church’s spiritual trends this research did the case study of the spiritual development of the Willow Creek church. Willow Creek church in America has been experienced continuous growing and has provided healthy matrix in the era of post-modern society. The Willow Creek church presents adequate suggestions through the seeking the spiritual changes of the church community, applying the effective religious education, and analyzing the church members’ spiritual conditions. With the results of this research the author provided several practical applications to the Korean churches. This research presented Sunday school’s educational paradigm shift, ordered Christian nurture as an educational ministry’s suggestion, and change of curriculum to bring up professional Christian educators. This study expects significant results for the establishment of the Korean church growing programs as well as connection of Christian educational research field and real spiritual church field.
