국문 초록

중증중복장애는 다른 장애와는 달리 주장애인 운동장애와 함께 의사소통장애, 시각 및 청각의 손상, 학습된 무기력, 행동장애, 인지장애, 섭식장애 그리고 부적응행동 등 신체적, 지적, 사회적 발달에서 중복장애를 나타낸다. 이로 인해 중증중복장애아의 어머니는 자녀 양육에 있어 더 많은 부담과 어려움을 가진다. 중증중복장애아의 심리적인 문제나 대처전략 등에 대해 몇 편의 선행연구가 수행되었으나, 대부분의 연구가 설문지를 이용한 양적연구로서 아동의 장애정도와 연령에 따른 부모스트레스 관계를 알아보거나, 부모의 대체전략훈련 프로그램의 적용 효과를 알아보는 연구에 치중되고 있을 뿐, 결과보다는 과정에 더 관심을 두고 현재 상황에 도달하기 까지의 역동적인 상황을 있는 그대로 보여주는 총체적인 관점에서의 연구들은 거의 전무한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 부모와의 개별심층면담을 통해 현상을 그대로 자세히 관찰하고, 정확하게 기술함으로써 중증중복장애아동 어머니의 자녀 양육 경험에 대한 실제적 경험의 본질을 살펴보고자 하는데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Children with severe-multiple disabilities are a term applied to physical disabilities whose IQs fall below 70 with or without language problems. The purpose of this study was to illustrate what are the mothers s problems in early identification, diagnosis, and intervention to breed the children with severe and profound disabilities. Qualitative research with interview was utilized. In this study, we had a open, honest, free conversation with the two mothers individually and deeply whose children with severe-multiple disabilities took part in the residential and itinerant education. Then we have come to the conclusion as follows by analyzing and interpreting the experience and feelings which mothers had toward they were taking care of the children with severe-multiple disabilities. The results of this study were that: (a) the mothers did not want to remind the mothers breeding experiences and the situation of their children; (b) the mothers did not get the sufficient opportunities to approach in early identification for their children; and (c) the mothers did not satisfy the educational services for their children. Therefore this study concluded that special educators have to offer various educational services in the dimensions of rehabilitation and welfare for children with severe-multiple disabilities and their families.
