국문 초록

“COVID-19가 수백 년간 지속된다면 사회는 어떻게 변해있을까?” 마가복음 2장 1절에서 3장 6절이 이러한 문제의식에 대한 범위를 형성하고 있다. 수천 년 전 고대 이스라엘은 악성 피부병에 대한 위생학적 병리적 차원의 대응이 정결법이라는 이름으로 존재했었다. 예수 시대에 이르러 사람들은 이러한 정결법 아래 부정한 것과 그렇지 않은 것을 생활 속에서 자연스럽게 구분하고 정결법을 지키는 것이 당연시되는 사회에 살고 있었다. 그런데 마가는 이스라엘이 당면한 문제의 본질이 정결법에 있다고 보았다. 그리고 이 정결법이 예수를 죽음에 이르게 했다고 기술한다. 왜 마가는 이 모든 이스라엘 문제의 본질이 율법, 즉 정결법에 집중되어 있다고 생각했을까? 마가복음 3:1-6에는 이러한 마가의 문제의식이 집약되어 있다. 본고의 목적은 마가복음 3:1-6을 번역하고 해석하는 데 있다. 그리고 이러한 번역과 해석은 이제까지와는 다른 새로운 해석 방법론에 대한 필요를 제기한다. 특히 마가는 단어의 축약과 생략, 특유의 문장 배열을 통해 자신의 의도를 강하게 전달하는데, 이러한 마가복음의 번역과 해석을 위해서는 가장 우선적으로 ‘저자 마가’의 존재를 인정해야 한다. 그리고 동시에 단어와 문장, 배열에 담긴 표현의 에너지를 이해하려 노력해야 한다. 마가복음 3:1-6의 번역과 해석을 통해 마가가 전하려 했던 정결법 논쟁의 핵심이 무엇이고, 적대자들의 실체가 무엇인지가 적나라하게 드러날 것이다. 그리고 마가복음 전체를 관통하고 있는 마가의 문제의식을 통해 지금 우리와 세계가 당면한 문제를 통찰해 볼 것이다.

영문 초록

Mark 2:1-3:6 forms the scope of this subject. Thousands of years ago, in ancient Israel there was a hygienic and pathological response to malignant skin diseases including leprosy under the name of the Laws of purity. By the time of Jesus, people were living in a society where it was taken for granted that people naturally distinguish between what is unclean and what is not under this law of purity and obey the laws of purity. However, Mark insists that the essence of the problem facing Israel was in the laws of purity themselves. The Gospel of Mark states that these are the reason Jesus was brought to death. Why did Mark think that the essence of all these Israeli matters was concentrated in the laws, such as the chastity law? Mark 3:1-6 summarizes Mark’s view regarding of this problem. The purpose of this paper is to translate and interpret Mark 3:1-6. It will further suggest the need for a new hermeneutical methodology.. Mark strongly conveys his intentions through abbreviations and omissions of words, and a unique arrangement of sentences. In order to translate and interpret Mark’s Gospel, the existence of the “author Mark” must first be acknowledged. And at the same time, we must try to understand the energy of their unique expressions. Through the translation and hermeneutics of Mark 3:1-6, the essence of the debate on the laws of purity that Mark tried to convey, and the identity of Jesus’s enemies, will be revealed. And through Mark’s subjective view that runs through the entire Gospel of Mark, we will be able to gain insight into the problems that we and the world are facing now.
