국문 초록

본 논문의 목적은 크리스천 과학자인 우종학의 주장과 개혁신학자 김병훈/우병훈의 주장을 이해하고, 그러한 이해를 바탕으로 오늘날 한국 교회의 모습을 성찰하는 것이다. 본 논문은 다음의 절차를 따른다. 첫째, 2장은 1) 해석자의 학문적 배경, 2) 해석자의 상황과 사회적 위치, 그리고 3) 해석자가 사용한 담론적 맥락이라는 관점으로 크리스천 과학자인 우종학과 개혁신학자들인 김병훈/우병훈의 주장을 이해하고자 시도한다. 해석자의 주장을 이해하기 위해서는 1) 그렇게 주장할 수밖에 없었던 원인/상황과 2) 그러한 주장의 영향(효과)까지를 총체적으로 살펴야 한다. 특히 1번(학문적 배경)과 2번(상황/사회적 위치)의 맥락은 해석자의 주장에 대한 원인과 상황을, 3번(언어적 맥락)의 맥락 그의 주장에 대한 결과에 대한 총체적인 이해를 도울 수 있기 때문에 필자는 그 세 요소를 선택하였다. 둘째, 3장은 앞선 장에서 도출된 연구 결과를 중심으로 오늘날 한국 교회의 모습을 성찰하고자 한다. 끝으로 필자의 의견과 본 논문이 공헌하고자 하는 바와 한계를 언급하며 마무리하고자 한다.

영문 초록

There is currently a debate on whether theology can reconcile with science undertaken between Christian scientist, Jong-Hak Woo and reformed theologian, Byung-Hoon Kim/Byung-Hoon Wo. The former argues that religions can balance with science, accepting evolution or evolution theory. Conversely, the latter claims that reformed theology cannot reconcile with science. The purpose of this study is to understand the ideas of Christian scientist (Jong-Hak Woo) and of reformed theologian (Byung-Hoon Kim/Byung-Hoon Woo) and to suggest their practical meaning for the Korean Church. This paper will proceed as follows: First, section two explains the aforementioned research and its arguements by employing three views: 1) interpreter’s academic background 2) interpreter’s community/position, and 3) interpreter’s discourse. The three views help to analyze the reason/situation of interpreter (number 1 and 2) and the effect of interpreter’s argument (number 3). Second, the next section offers suggestions regarding the meanings of my paper for today’s Korean churches. Finally, I will organize the previous sections, set out my view, and deal with limits of my paper and future tasks.
