국문 초록

‘본다는 것의 의미’. 그 의미를 찾는 것이 오히려 부자연스러울 수 있는 일상적인 감각작용으로, 이러한 행위들을 통하여 우리는 우리 자신을 규정하고 있다. 우리가 일상에서 가지는 여러 감각들 중에서도, 시각은 분명 나와 외부를 소통하는 기본요소임에 틀림없다. ‘시각’의 개념은 우리가 외부로부터 무언가를 받아들이는 상징성을 가지고 있으며, 우리가 ‘눈’이외에 다른 감각기관을 통하여 무언가를 받아들이는 것도, ‘무언가를 본다’의 의미로 상징화 시킨다. 이러한 일상적인 ‘봄’의 행위-확장된 개념으로 ‘받아들임’-를 통하여 인간은 발전한다. 외부로부터 받아들인 새로움, 하지만 내속에 들어온 새로움은 더 이상 내가 본대로의 새로움이 아니다. 대상체로서의 새로움은 내속에서 ‘자기화’ 되어 지고, 더 이상 타자의 개념을 넘어서서 내속에서 체화(體化)되어 진다. 그리고 타자로서의 본질은 없어지고 내속에서 나만의 이미지로 남게 된다. 그리고 이것을 가지고 이것의 ‘같음’을 남들과 이야기한다. 하지만 더 이상 서로가 이야기하는 ‘그것’으로서의 타자는 같은 것이 아님을 인정해야 한다. 본고는 문화와 문화정체성의 입장에서 ‘본다는 것의 의미’를 이야기 하려한다. 개인적 차원의 ‘시각’의 의미는 내속의 욕구, 기억과 연결되어, 개인이 가지는 범주 내에서 이루어진다. 이러한 ‘문화적 편견’은 시간과 공간 속에서 정체성의 개념을 가지게 된다. 똑같은 사물에 대한 인식이, 개인이 가지는 이러한 ‘문화적 편견’으로 인해 달라질 수밖에 없다. 다름이다. 결국 나와 타자는 다르다는 인식이 이러한 문화적 편견을 극복하는 길이라는 점, 그리고 이러한 맥락에서 사회적으로 서로의 주관적인 시각을 인정하고, 서로가 하나될 수 있는 부분을 찾아가는 것이 현실적인 대안일 듯하다. ‘그들이 나와 같이 볼 수 있다’는 환상에서 벗어나, 그들이 보는 방식을 서로가 인정하는 태도가 대화와 소통을 위한 기본자세가 아닌가 싶다.

영문 초록

The meaning of Seeing . It seems meaningless to seek the meaning of Seeing through with eye because it is a usual sensory organ, but it makes me myself through doing like that. Among sensory organs, Seeing through with eye is definitely a basic element to communicate between inside myself and besides myself . Seeing has a symbolic power to accept something from outer world, and we symbolize the meaning of to see something while we accept something through different sensory organ except eye . With this usual deed, seeing - enlarged concept acceptance - man have developed. It is not longer the same as the something new from outer world when it accepted into me. As a object, the something new that accepted become an another one when it comes to me no more being the same, and losing its distinct, only remains as an image in me. We talk to each other which is same, but we have to accept that is different one which they have inside each their mind. This paper explain the meaning of seeing focused on the view point of culture and cultural identification. With that point, the meaning of seeing connected to private s desires and memories of each mind and it happens in this range. Cultural prejudices through time and space makes cultural identifications, and it makes the differential cognition among people. It is differential, so we have to admit the differential between You and I and it is a more practical way to admit the each person s own way to see and to try to find the point to joint that for the generous society. That will be a basic attitude for the social conversation and communication .
