국문 초록

뉴스 댓글에 대한 학문적 관심에도 불구하고, 심리언어학적 측면에서 모바일 뉴스 댓글의 복잡한 구조를 분석한 연구는 드물다. 본 연구는 이러한 문제의식에 기반하여 국내 주요 언론사들이 제작한 모바일 뉴스의 댓글에 담긴 심리 언어학적 요소들을 분석했다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 심리학적 언어 분석 프로그램인 K-LIWC를 사용했으며, 분석 결과 문장의 수와 1인칭 대명사, 26개의 언어 요소들이 신문과 방송의 모바일 뉴스 댓글에서 유의미한 차이를 나타냈다. 특이할 만한 결과로 일부 보수 신문과 진보 신문, SBS와 KBS의 모바일 댓글에서 언어 복잡성(예. 형태소와 구)이 두드러졌다. 아울러 상업 방송사인 SBS의 모바일 댓글에서는 오락적 요소가 강조된 반면에 보수와 진보 신문의 모바일 댓글에서는 부정적 감정 단어가 높게 나타났다. 본 연구를 통하여 언어 분석 프로그램을 대중 매체 연구에 어떻게 적용할 수 있는지에 대한 프로토콜과 토대 자료를 제시했다.

영문 초록

Despite scholarly attention to comments on news, no studies investigate psychological linguistic elements of mobile comments to reveal their complex structure. To fill this gap, we analyze the psychological linguistic elements of mobile comments on news content produced by South Korean major news organizations. By using the K-LIWC, a psychological linguistic analysis program, we could find that the number of sentences, first-person pronouns, and 26 other elements vary with the comments on broadcast and newspaper content. Specifically, mobile comments on a conservative newspaper, a liberal newspaper, SBS and KBS were salient in language complexities (e.g., morphemes and phrases). The two newspapers’ comments carry negative emotional words, whereas the mobile comments on SBS, a commercial network, highlight entertainment. This study provided a protocol and base information on how the language analysis program can be used in a mass communication study.
