국문 초록

이 글은 한국광복군의 대표적 활동으로 평가받는 인면전구공작대의 파견 배경과 성격을 살핀 글이다. 인면전구공작대는 제2차 세계대전 중 영국 S.O.E India Mission의 활동과 민혁당을 중심으로 하는 재중국 한인독립운동 좌파세력의 대외 활동에서 파견 배경을 찾을 수 있다. 그리고 영국 S.O.E India Mission의 I.F.B.U.에 소속되어 대적선전 등의 임무를 수행했다. 공작대 파견은 민혁당의 노력이 결정적이었다고 할 수 있다. 그러나 중국 국민당과 한독당의 견제, 영국 측의 무관심 등으로 민혁당 중심의 공작대는 파견되지 못했다. 그럼에도 불구하고 민혁당은 공작대를 관리ㆍ운영하며 자신들의 세력을 확대하고, 독립운동의 주도적 위치를 차지하고자 했다. 이러한 활동을 통해 인면전구공작대는 제2차 세계대전기 민혁당과 연합국과의 ‘외교’ 활동으로 해석할 수 있다. 그리고 민혁당이 국제관계의 유리한 위치를 차지하여 한국독립운동과 해방 후 정국 상황을 자신들에게 유리한 방향으로 만들어나가고자 했던 것이라고 할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study is on the background and character of the dispatch of KNALU. The background of the KNALU dispatch can be found in the activities of the S.O.E India Mission during World War II and the external activities of the National Revolutionary Party. However, due to the checks of the Kuomintang of China and the Korea Independent Party and the indifference of S.O.E., the KNALU centered on the Korean Nationalist Revolutionary Party could not be dispatched. Nevertheless, the Korean Nationalist Revolutionary Party managed and operated the KNALU, and based on this, it wanted to take the leading position in the independence movement. Thus, the KNALU can be interpreted as a “diplomatic” activity with the Korean Nationalist Revolutionary Party and the Allied Powers during World War II. And it can be said that the Korean Nationalist Revolutionary Party wanted to take an advantageous position in international relations and make the situation of the Korean independence movement and post-liberation political situation in their favor.
