한국 역사교과서 속의 베트남 서술 분석

국문 초록

베트남은 현재 한국과 경제, 문화, 사회적 측면에서 밀접한 관련을 맺고 있다. 문재인 정부의 신남방 정책에서도 핵심 파트너로 규정하고 있으며, 상대국에 많은 이주민들이 살고 있다. 이런 점에서 교과서 속에 상대방에 대한 서술은 미래 세대를 위해 중요한 정보를 제공하고, 상대 인식의 형성에 많은 영향을 끼친다는 점에서 교과서의 역할이 크다고 할 수 있다. 현재 한국 역사교과서 속의 베트남 서술은 동아시아 문화권 속의 문화적 공통 요소, 베트남 전쟁을 중심으로 서술되고 있다. 그러나 교육 내용 축소 방침에 따라 고등학교 <동아시아사>에서도 베트남사 서술이 대폭 축소되었다. 중국에 매몰된 아시아 역사에서 벗어나 역사적 시야를 넓히고, 독립을 위해 노력하였으며, 현재 긴밀한 유대를 갖는 베트남을 인식할 수 있는 기회가 줄어들었다. 반면 2015개정교육과정에 의한 고등학교 <한국사>의 베트남 전쟁 서술에 있어서는 참전 과정, 베트남 전쟁에 대한 피해 등과 관련하여 서술이 진일보한 서술이 보이고 있다. 세계사 영역에서의 베트남사 서술은 한국사와 괴리된 채 별개의 영역에서 존재하고 있다. 중학교 과목의 명칭을 <역사>라 한 것이나 2007개정교육과정에서 고등학교 과목에 <역사>를 만든 것도 한국사를 일국사적 관점에서가 아닌 세계사의 관점에서 보고자 한 것이었다. 이런 점에서 베트남사 서술에서 문화적 공유, 베트남 전쟁이 한국 현대사에 끼친 영향과 현재의 문제를 함께 서술함으로써 그 의미를 살리는 서술이 필요할 것이다. 베트남 역사 서술에 있어 다양한 자료의 발굴, 서술 대상에 대한 상대화, 한국-베트남 교류의 다양한 양상의 서술, 베트남 전쟁의 실상과 전쟁 책임에 대한 서술, 현재의 베트남과 한국 관계에 대산 서술 및 인정 교과서나 공동 교재의 개발 보급 등이 요청되고 있다.

영문 초록

Vietnam is maintaining a close relationship with Korea in terms of economic, cultural, and social aspects. It is defined as a key partner in the New Southern Policy by Moon Jae-in Administration, and is also where many emigrants reside. In this perspective, the role of textbooks is significant as its description in the textbooks provide important information for the future generation and significantly influences the formation of awareness of it. Description of Vietnam in current history textbooks of Korea is focused on cultural commonality in East Asian culture and the Vietnam War. High school , which provides a good deal of description on modern Vietnamese history, added information on the Port Opening Era. High school according to 2015 Revised Curriculum demonstrates description of Vietnam War, the participation process in the war, and damages related to the war that has taken a step forward. Description of Vietnam in history textbooks in Korea is made based on the authors’ understanding of curriculum and validity of description as educational contents, rather than the explicit description of curriculum. Contents vary greatly based on authors’ awareness and degree of understanding, so the description in textbook does now show a significant progress. This is because the existing writing staff is maintained after the curriculum even though many textbooks are published, and the formation of writing staff is not diverse. Description of Vietnamese history in world history exists in a separate domain, separate from Korean history. Naming the course in middle school as or establishing course in high school in 2007 Revised Curriculum were an attempt to view Korean history from the perspective of world history, not the history of a single nation. In this aspect, description of Vietnamese history needs to signify the cultural sharing, and the effects of Vietnam War in modern Korean history and the current issues along. The fact that students’ interest and understanding determine the significance of events based on their awareness of ‘present’ situation requests the necessity of such as well. With regard to the description of Vietnamese history, discovery of different data, relativization of the subject of description, various aspects of Korea-Vietnam exchange, description on the truth and responsibility of Vietnam war, description of current Korea-Vietnam relationship, and development and distribution of approved textbooks and joint textbooks are requested.
