국문 초록

본 연구는 『한국 고대·중세 군사제도사』에 대한 비평 논문으로서 그중에서도 한국고대 군사제도를 바라보는 연구서의 시각을 검토하고 분석한 것이다. 이를 통해 앞으로의 고대 군사제도에관한 연구들이 나아가야할 방향과 과제를 제언하고자 하였다. 본서는 한국고대 군사제도를 중세로 편입하는 시도를 한다. 일반적으로 바라보는 시대구분과는 달리 삼국의 군제가 보다 발전적인모습을 가지고 있었음을 제언하였다. 또한 군제에 관한 사료 분석 방법론을 논하며 부족한 사료안에서도 연구를 진행할 수 있음을 밝히고자 하였다. 이러한 연구 방법론과 시각을 통해 고대군사제도사의 다양한 논의점들을 분석하여 저자만의 논지를 전개해 나갔다. 본서는 거시적인시각에서 한국 군사제도의 연속성을 탐구했다는 점과 척박한 연구 환경 속에서 군사제도를 다루었다는 점에서 큰 의의를 가진다. 다만 이로 인해 발생하는 일부 세부적인 한계점들도 확인된다. 앞으로 한국 고대 군사제도 연구자들이 함께 고민해야할 점들을 추슬러 제언해 본다.

영문 초록

This study is a critical paper on the 『History of ancient and medieval military systems of Korea』. Among them, the research paper examines the ancient Korean military system. Through this, I suggest the direction and challenges of the research on ancient military systems. This book attempts to incorporate the ancient Korean military system into the Middle Ages. Unlike the general classification of the times, it is suggested that period of the Three States had a more advanced appearance. It also discusses the methodology of the analysis of feed on the military system. It presents a way to conduct research even within insufficient feed. Through these research methodologies and perspectives, various points of discussion in ancient military institutions are analyzed, and the author develops his own argument. This book is of great significance in that it explored the continuity of the military systems of Korea from a macroscopic perspective and covered the entire military system in a poor research environment. However, some detailed limitations that result from this are also identified. In the future, researchers of Korea s ancient military systems should think about things together.
