국문 초록

지역차원에 전개된 6월 민주 항쟁이 갖는 정치사회적 효과에 불구하고, 상대적으로 지역의 6월 항쟁에 대한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 이러한 이유로는 연구의 출발이라고 할 수 있은 체계적이고 풍부한 기록의 부족도 한 부분을 차지하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 대전지역 6월 항쟁 사례를 중심으로 항쟁의 출발 및 전개과정을 체계적으로 정리하고, 어떻게 지역차원에서 이러한 대규모 군중 동원이 가능했는지 그 요인을 찾아보고자 한다. 6월 10일 전국동시다발 시위에 맞춰 대전에서도 본격적인 시위가 시작되었다. 대규모 평화행진이 진행된 6월 15일 기점으로 경찰력의 통제할 수 없는 수준으로까지 시위대의 규모까지 확장되었다. 대전지역에서 이렇게 대규모 동원이 가능했던 이유로는 지역대학생들의 대규모 참여, 전국적 진행상황에 맞춰 대전지역 6월 항쟁을 이끌었던 충남도민운동본부의 리더십, 그리고 일반 시민들의 적극적 참여와 지지를 들 수 있다. 6월 항쟁을 경험은 6월 항쟁 직후 연쇄적으로 발생한 대전지역 7･8･9 노동자대투장을 포함해 80년대 후반, 90년대 초반부터 본격적으로 등장한 대전지역 시민운동이 출발할 수 있는 정치적 공간과 사회적 분위기를 만들어 주었다.

영문 초록

Despite the political and social effects of the June 1987 Democratic Uprising that developed at local levels, there is a relatively lacking amount of research on the June Uprisings of each area. A reason for this may be the insufficient amount of systematic and abundant records, which can be considered the starting point of research. Therefore, this study systematically organizes the starting points and development processes of the Uprising with a focus on June Uprising cases in the Daejon area and it attempts to find factors that made such a large scale crowd mobilization possible from local levels. On June 10th, demonstrations began in Daejon along with simultaneous nationwide protests in other areas. The scale of the protestors expanded from the large scale peace march held on June 15 to a scale that could not be controlled by police forces. Such large scale mobilization was made possible in the Daejon area because of the large scale participation of local college students, the leadership of the Chungnam Provincial Coalition for Democratic Constitution that led the June Uprising of the Daejon area following national progress situations, and the active participation and support of general citizens. The June Uprising experience created a political space and social atmosphere in which civil movements in the Daejon area could actively begin from the late 80s to early 90s such as the Daejon 7･8･9 Great Worker Struggle that occurred sequentially, immediately after the June Uprising.
