국문 초록

포용적 성장에 대한 중요성과 더불어 기업의 사회적 책임과 사회적 가치에 대한 실무적, 학문적 논의가 증대되고 있다. 이에 따라 사회적 가치와 이윤을 함께 추진하는 사회적 기업의 사회적 책임에 대한 관심도 높아지고 있다. 사회적 기업의 자율경영공시는 사회적 기업의 경제적･사회적 성과 달성 수준과 사회적 책임 이행 수준을 보여주는 지표라고 할 수 있다. 그러나 기존의 연구들은 자율경영공시에 참여한 사회적 기업들만을 다루고 있기 때문에 자율경영공시에 참여하지 않은 기업들의 특성을 파악하기 어렵다. 이에 본 연구는 사회적 기업의 사회적 책임을 나타낼 수 있는 지표로서 자율경영공시에 참여한 기업과 참여하지 않은 기업의 특성을 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 2012년부터 2019년까지 사회적 기업들의 자율경영공시 참여횟수를 토대로 순서형 로짓 분석을 수행하였다. 분석 결과 사회적 기업의 업력, 소재지역, 설립 형태, 인증 유형 및 주요 제공 서비스 종류 등이 자율경영공시 빈도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 분석 결과를 토대로 본 연구는 향후 사회적 기업의 자율경영공시 참여를 증진할 수 있는 정책적 시사점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Along with the importance of inclusive growth, corporate social responsibilities and social values have been paid significant attentions from practitioners and scholars. In this regard, public interests in social enterprises promoting social values and profits simultaneously are also growing. Voluntary disclosure of social enterprises gives information on both economic and social performances and the level of accomplishment of social responsibilities. However, previous studies on social enterprises that have participated in voluntary disclosure did not deal with the features of social enterprises who did not participated in the system. This study aims to find the differences in characteristics between participating firms and non-participating firms in voluntary disclosure. For the research purpose, this study employed ordinal logistic analysis using the frequency of voluntary disclosure of social enterprises from 2012 to 2019. It turned out that variables including firms’ age, location, establishment types, certification types, and main services provided by social enterprises significantly affect the frequency of voluntary disclosure. Based on the results, this study suggested various policy implications, and discussed the limitations of the present study.
