영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of coaching behavior, athletes’ satisfaction, and intention of dropout. 323 (male=235, female=88) collegiate Taekwondo athletes’ data, excluding 17 because of data loss, collected and used for this study. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were conducted using the SPSS 23.0 program. First, autonomy-supportive coaching behavior had a positive effect on all sub-factors of satisfaction of athletes. But, controlling coaching behavior had a negative effect on mutual satisfaction only. Second, while autonomy-supportive had a positive effects, controlling coaching behavior had a negative effects on all sub-factors of intention of dropout. Third, task satisfaction influenced negatively self-intention of dropout, mutual satisfaction influenced negatively school- and parent-intention of dropout, and coach satisfaction influenced negatively school-intention of dropout. In conclusion, coaching behavior is a key prerequisite that can boost or undermine satisfaction of athletes. Furthermore, the satisfaction of athletes can predict athletes’ dropout intention.
