국문 초록

이 글은 北宋의 유학자인 程明道(이름은 程顥, 1032-1085)의 仁說을 고찰한 것이다. 여기서는 선행 연구에 이어서 求仁 공부의 전제와 내용, 그리고 특징과 境界에 대해 고찰하였다. 그는 구인 공부의 전제로 生意와 自得을 제시한다. 그리고 만물의 內感에 근거하여 구인 공부의 인간학적 근거로 知覺을 제시한다. 이때 지각은 타자의 고통에대한 공감적 痛覺을 의미한다. 또한 구인 공부의 구체적인 방법으로 誠敬 공부를 제시한다. 誠은 일종의 自省 방법으로 仁의 본체를 확증하는 공부 방법이고, 敬은 必有 事焉의 전제 위해서 仁의 작용을 勿忘勿助의 방식으로 확충하는 공부이다. 그런데 정명도가 성경을 구인 공부로 제시한 배경에는 마음의 現前性을 體認하는 것이 仁을 완성하는 길이라는 생각이 전제되어 있다. 이 때문에 성경은 공부 방법이자 동시에 경계의 성격을 띤다. 따라서 주체는 성경 공부를 통해서 한편으로는 만물일체의 근거로서 인의 본체를 체인할 수 있는 동시에 사회적으로는 博施濟衆의 이념에 도달할 수있다.

영문 초록

This paper examines the Ren(仁) theory of ChengMingDao, a Confucian scholar of the North Song era in China. Here based on following the results of previous paper, writer have examined the premise, contents, characteristics and goals of his theory of Ren seeking. ChengMingDao regards realizing the living things’ will as the main goals of Ren seeking. And he suggests self-acquisition and perception as the grounds of Ren seeking.In his Ren theory, Self-acquisition contains nature and practice at the same time, perception is a sort of painful sense of compassion or sympathy arising from empathy for others’ s suffering. Also sincerity and piety are the main ways of Ren seeking, the former is the methods of expanding Ren’ s working in wuwangwuzhu(勿忘 勿助)’ s way, the latter is the methods of confirming Ren’ s nature in reflective way in everyday life. Especially what is noteworthy in his theory of Ren seeking is emphasis on the presence of mind and heart. In other words, as Ren seeking always entails the embodying of mind and heart, sincerity and piety become a method of practice and at the same time a higher stage of cultivation. therefore a agent can embody the original substance of Ren and at the same time save the massive widely through the constant practice of sincerity and piety.
