왕부지의 否卦 풀이에 드러난 君子觀 고찰

국문 초록

본 논문에서 왕부지의 否卦 풀이에 드러난 君子觀을 고찰하고, 이것이 타당한지를 검토해 보았다. 아울러 이것이 오늘날 우리들에게 주는 가르침이 무엇인지를 밝혀보았다. 이를 위해 먼저 비괘 괘사가 상징하는 상황은 군자에게 꽉 틀어 막혀 너무나 좋지 않은 상황이라는 것, 否卦의 經·傳文에서는 이러한 상황 속에서 군자가 어떻게 세상을 살아가야 하는지에 대한 가르침을 주고 있다는 것을 논하였다. 그리고 왕부지의 『주역』관은, “『주역』은 군자의 도모함을 위한 것이지 소인의 도모함을 위한 것이 아니다.”라 하는 것임을 밝혔다. 아울러 본 논문에서는 왕부지의 否卦 풀이를 본격적으로 논하되, 이를 부정적 측면과 긍정적 측면 둘로 나누어서 거론하였다. 그리고 군자의 삶은 ‘도를 보전함[全道]’에그 의의와 목적이 있으니, 부정적 측면 또한 긍정적 측면으로 昇華함을 고찰하였다. 이 두 측면이 서로 모순되는 것이 아니라 동전의 양면과 같다는 것으로 귀결된다는것이다. 본 논문에서는 마지막으로 왕부지의 후반생이 否卦의 삶 속에서 君子像을 생생하게드러내고 있음에 대해 논하였다. 그는 극도의 비색함 속에 살면서도 그 삶의 의의와목표를 ‘道를 保全함’으로 귀결 짓고 그대로 살아간 것은 높이 평가받아야 한다. 그결과 왕부지는 經·史·子·集을 망라한 분야에서 찬연한 업적을 쌓았음을 밝혔다. 필자는 이것이 자신의 비괘 풀이를 삶으로 직접 실천한 전형적인 군자상이라 보고 논하였다.

영문 초록

Wang fu-zhi showed his understanding of Junzi(君子觀) through his commentary of Pigua(否卦). This study reviewed Wang fu-zhi’ s understanding of Junzi via his commentary of Pigua, and, what we can learn from it. To begin with, this study discussed the backgrounds of Wang fu-zhi’ s understanding of The Book of Changes(周易) and Jing Chuánwén(經傳文) in Pigua. This backgrounds revealed that the situation of Pigua’ s phrase(卦辭) is too hard for Junzi. Jing Chuánwén taught Junzi to overcome this situation. Moreover, Wang fu-zhi’ s understanding of The Book of Changes was that this book is not for The villain(小人), but only for Junzi. In addition, This study elucidated positive and negative aspects of Wang fu-zhi’s Pigua commentary respectively. In a sense, it is plausible to have a doubt that the negative aspects of his commentary supports escape from reality. However, this doubt would be reshaped by thinking the negative aspect paralleled with the positive aspect that the goal of Junzi is conserving the dao(全道). Hence, these two aspects are not contradictory but complementary. Lastly, this study demonstrated the validity of Wang fu-zhi’ s commentary. Based on value and impact of the dao(道) in Confucianism, it is inevitable to conclude Wang fu-zhi’ s commentary with conserving the dao(全道). Moreover, Wang fu-zhi pointed out that Junzi suppose to be suffered in his early life, yet, spend his whole later life to conserve the dao, so that, he could make radiant accomplishments in classics, such as confucian classics, history, philosophy and literature. According to this, Wang fu-zhi’ s commentary of pigua is fated correct
