청소년의 학업성취와 삶의 만족도 잠재프로파일 유형 분류 및 영향요인 검증

국문 초록

본 연구는 우리나라 청소년의 읽기·수학·과학 학업성취와 삶의 만족도 수준에 어떤 잠재프로파일이 존재하는지 탐색하고, 잠재프로파일 분류에 영향을 미치는 학생, 교사 및 학교변인을 검증하였다. 이를 위해 OECD에서 제공하는 PISA 2018 자료(고등학교 1학년)를 활용하여, 청소년의 학업성취와 삶의 만족도 잠재프로파일 분류 및 영향요인 검증을 위해 3단계 접근법(Asparouhov & Muthén, 2014)을 실시하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청소년의 학업성취와 삶의 만족도를 3개의 잠재프로파일로 분류하는 것이 가장 적합하였으며, 각 집단을 학업성취와 삶의 만족도 수준에 따라‘낮은 학업성취-높은 삶의 만족도 집단(집단 1)’,‘중간 학업성취-중간 삶의 만족도 집단(집단 2)’,‘높은 학업성취-낮은 삶의 만족도 집단(집단 3)’으로 명명하였다. 특징적으로 학업성취와 삶의 만족도 수준이 상반된 집단 유형이 2개가 도출되었다. 둘째, 다양한 학생변인(성별, ESCS, 읽기(독서) 참여, 학교의 가치, 학교에서의 소속감, 부모의 정서적 지원, 협동에 대한 학교 상황, 학교 공부에 대한 주변의 지원), 교사변인(교직 경력, 교직에 대한 만족, 학습 평가 방법, 학생들에게 제공하는 피드백), 학교변인(학교가 위치한 도시의 크기, 학교 유형, 학생-교사 비율, 학교 행사에 참여한 학부모 비율)이 청소년의 학업성취와 삶의 만족도 잠재프로파일 분류를 예측하는 데 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 청소년의 학업성취와 삶의 만족도를 높이기 위한 다각적인 시사점을 제시하였으며, 본 연구의 시사점과 함께 후속연구를 위한 제언을 논하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to classify latent profiles of Korean adolescents’ reading, math, and science achievements and life satisfaction and to test the effects of student, teacher, and school factors on the identified latent profiles by using PISA 2018 data (10th grade). A latent profile analysis using a 3-step approach was used to explore latent profiles and to test the effects of factors. The profiles were characterized as three groups with ‘low-achievement and high-life satisfaction’, ‘middle-achievement and middle-life satisfaction’ and ‘high-achievement and low-life satisfaction’. Specially, two types of latent profiles with different levels of academic achievement and life satisfaction were shown. Moreover, various student (gender, ESCS, enjoyment of reading, value of school, sense of belonging, parents’ emotional support, student cooperation, and supporting for schoolwork), teacher (teaching career, job satisfaction, assessment, and feedback) and school (school location, school type, student-teacher ratio, and parent involvement) factors were found to be significant determinants of the identified three latent profiles. Based on the results of this current research, the suggestions to improve adolescents’ academic achievement and life satisfaction as well as the implications for the future research were discussed.
