COVID-19 대응 대학 원격강의 운영 사례 분석을 통한 유형 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 코로나 19 바이러스 대응 차원의 대학 원격강의 진행을 위하여 원격강의 유형을 개발하고, 수도권 소재 종합대학의 실제 운영 사례를 분석하여 효과적인 원격강의의 운영 방향을 도출하는 데 있었다. 이를 위하여 원격강의 유형을‘강의중심형’과‘활동중심형’의 2가지 유형으로 개발하고, 대학 수업에 적용 이후 재학생 대상 원격강의 만족도 조사를 수행하였다. 만족도 조사는 원격강의에 대한 실제 운영 현황과 학생 수업 만족도 실태를 조사하기 위하여 원격강의 운영 약 3주차 이후 실시하였으며, 3,304명의 학생들이 참여하였다. 이를 통하여 도출된 대학 원격강의의 운영 유형과 사례 분석에 대한 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 개발된 원격강의의 유형은‘강의중심형’과‘활동중심형’의 2가지 형태였으나, 실제 운영된 결과‘교수자 직접 강의형’,‘학습자료 중심 강의형’,‘실시간 화상 강의형’의 3가지 형태로 나타났다. 둘째, 원격강의의 유형별로 만족도에 대한 차이가 나타났는데, 전반적으로‘교수자 직접 강의형’과‘실시간 화상 강의형’을 수강한 학생들이‘학습자료 중심 강의형’을 수강한 학생들보다 통계적으로 유의미한 수준(p< .001)에서 더 만족하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 원격강의의 만족스러운 부분은‘자유로운 시간과 장소에서 학습이 가능(32.6%)’하다는 점이 가장 높게 나타났고,‘반복적인 강의 시청(29.4%)’,‘개별적인 학습 속도 조절((25.2%)’,‘부담감 없는 상호 소통(4.6%)’의 순서로 만족스러워하는 것으로 나타났다. 반면에 원격강의의 불만족스러운 부분으로는‘강의 동영상의 질(17.2%)’이 가장 높게 나타났고,‘교과 내용 이해의 어려움(13.7%)’,‘과제 수행기간의 부족(10.3%)’,‘시스템의 불안정성(10.3%)’의 순서로 불만족스러워하는 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구에 대한 교육적 시사점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to identify and develop “types” of distance education responding to COVID-19 and to draw the direction of effective distance education by analyzing actual operating cases in a university in a metropolitan area. To this end, the types of distance education were developed into two types, ‘lecture-centered’ and ‘activity-centered’, and applied to university classes. This study surveyed 3,304 students to investigate the actual operational status and satisfaction of distance education after the 3rd week of the semester. The results of the type development, operation and case analysis of distance education in university are as follows. First, the types of developed distance education were of two types: ‘lecture-centered’ and ‘activity-centered’, but as a result of actual operation, ‘instructor-centered’, ‘learning material-centered’, and ‘real-time lecture’ appeared as three types. Second, there was a difference in satisfaction level for each type of distance education. Overall, the satisfaction level of students who took the ‘instructor-centered type’ and ‘real-time lecture type’ was more statistically significant higher (p <.001) than the students who took the ‘learning-oriented lecture type’. Third, the most satisfactory part of the distance education was that ‘learning is possible at a free time and place (32.6%)’, followed by ‘repeating lecture viewing (29.4%)’, ‘individual learning speed adjustment (25.2%)’, ‘unburdened mutual communication (4.6%)’. On the other hand, the most unsatisfactory part of the distance education was ‘quality of lecture videos (17.2%)’, followed by ‘difficulty in understanding the content (13.7%)’, ‘lack of task execution period (10.3%)’, and ‘system instability (10.3%)’. Educational implications of this study were discussed.
