국문 초록

젠더기반 폭력에 대한 중요성을 인지하며, 세계 각국은 정의와 안전에 대한 보다 나은 치안서비스를 보장함으로써 여성의 안전을 높이기 위한 ‘젠더대응 경찰활동’을 요구하고 있다. 세계적 흐름에 따라 한국도 그러한 경찰활동을 지향할 필요성이 제기되지만 여전히 경찰 내 발생하는 성비위 사건은 이러한 전략적 변화를 회의적인 시선으로 바라보게 한다. 이 연구는 이러한 문제점이 개인이 가진 성 인지부조화를 원인으로 판단하고, 경찰관의 젠더감수성 향상을 높여야 함을 시사한다. 시사점을 도출하기 위해 신임경찰관들을 대상으로 그들이 지각한 젠더감수성 인식을 파악하는 것이 이 연구의 주된 목적이다. 다만, 미투운동 및 성별 간 혐오문제가 대두되는 현 시점에서 과연 응답자가 자기보고식 설문에 성실히 응답했을지 의문을 제기할 수 있다. 이러한 문제의식을 바탕으로 젠더감수성의 응답왜곡 여부를 추가적으로 분석하였다. 결과적으로 이 연구에서는 중앙경찰학교의 양성평등교육 시간의 확보와 남녀 혼반의 교육방식, 내실있는 커리큘럼, 향후 젠더감수성 연구의 응답왜곡 통제방안, 사회적 인식변화에 대한 제언을 도출하였다.

영문 초록

Recognizing the importance of Gender-Based Violence, countries around the world are calling for Gender-Responsive Policing to enhance women s safety by ensuring better security services for justice and safety. This global trend raises the need for Korea to pursue such police activities, but the sexual misconduct in the police still makes these strategic changes skeptical. This study suggests that such problems are attributed to the gender-incongruity perceived by individuals, and that the police officers gender sensitivity should be improved. In order to derive these implications, the main purpose of this study is to grasp the perceived gender sensitivity of the new police officers. However, as the issue of the #MeToo movement and man and woman hatred is emerging, it can be questioned whether the respondents have sincerely answered the self-report questionnaire. Based on this problem consciousness, we further analyzed whether the gender sensitivity is distorted. As a result, this study has drawn suggestions for securing the gender equality education time of the Central Police Academy, the education method of mixed sex, solid curriculum, the control of the response distortion of future gender sensitivity research, and the change of social awareness.
