국문 초록

우리나라의 청소년 자살율은 해마다 증가하고 있으며, 청소년의 사망 원인 1위는 자살이다. 이 연구의 목적은 청소년의 자살을 예방하기 위하여 자살 유발 요인을 분석하는데 있으며, 청소년의 가정, 학교, 사이버 공간에서 폭력의 피해 경험이 자살생각과의 영향관계에서 우울의 매개효과를 나타내는지를 파악하는데 있다. 이를 위해 ‘2017 청소년실태조사’ 자료 중 중학교 1학년부터 고등학교 3학년까지의 청소년을 연구대상으로 선정하여 분석하였다. 첫째, 가정폭력, 학교폭력, 사이버폭력 피해경험이 청소년 자살생각과 우울감에 각각 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 둘째, 청소년 폭력피해가 피해 유형별로 자살생각에 우울 변인을 통한 유의미한 부분 매개효과가 있는 것으로 검증되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 볼 때, 가정폭력, 학교폭력, 사이버폭력 피해 청소년은 반드시 우울을 거쳐 자살생각에 이르는 것은 아닌 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 폭력피해경험이 우울 등의 행태를 보이지 않더라도 자살생각을 하는데 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 가정 내, 학교, 사이버 등의 폭력 피해를 경험한 청소년들을 대상으로 자살예방에 대한 맞춤형 교육 및 상담 지원을 적극적으로 할 필요성에 대한 근거를 제시하고 있다.

영문 초록

Suicide rate of youth has dramatically increased and the youth suicide has become the most frequently occurred cause of youths death in South Korea. The current study has aim to analyze the impact of victimized experience of youths on the suicidal ideation in order to prevent suicide attempts of youths. In particular, the present study aims at verifying whether or not the violence victimization experiences with family members, peers, and online acquaints has been mediated by the effect of depression. In this context, the data were drawn from 2017 Korean Youth Survey Data which was collected from the first to 3rd grade students of middle school. Boot-strapping and regression analysis technique were employed by using SPSS PROCESS ver3.4 program. The analysis results were summarized as follows. First, victimization of domestic violence, school violence and cyber bullying was found to have significant impact on youth suicidal ideation and depression symptoms. Second, it is demonstrated that depression showed statistical significance as a partial mediated effect in term of relations between victimization experience and suicidal ideation regardless of different types of victimization. Based on these results, youth victims by domestic violence, school violence and cyber violence do not necessarily be associated with suicidal ideation by having depression. In other words, even though violence victimization doesn t show any signs of depression, it may result in suicidal ideation of youth. Therefore, this study presents the crucial ground to develop individualized educational programs and effective youth counseling program to prevent suicide attempts of youths who have experienced victimization of domestic violence, school violence and cyber bullying. Further policy implications will be discussed.
