군 복무 부적응과 자살에 관한 연구

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 군 장병의 개인특성과 군 복무 중 자살생각의 관계를 알아보고, 군 복무 부적응의 역할을 분석하는 것이며, 연구결과를 바탕으로 군 복무 부적응과 자살과 관련한 정책적 제언을 하는 것이다. 이 연구는 2015년 육군, 해군, 공군 병사 500명을 대상으로 조사, 수집한 자료를 활용하여 2차 분석을 실시했다. 분석결과, 첫째, 군 장병의 개인적 특성은 자살생각에 정적 상관관계를 보였다. 즉 군 장병의 개인적 특성인, 개인성장 가능성, 사회성, 정서 안정성이 높을수록 자살생각을 하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 군 장병의 개인성장 가능성, 사회성, 정서 안정성의 개인적 특성은 군 복무 적응에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 군 복무 적응 정도가 높을수록 자살생각이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 군 장병의 개인적 특성과 군 복무 적응, 그리고 자살생각 간의 구조적 인과모형 검증결과, 군 복무 적응이 개인적 특성과 자살생각과의 관계에서 완전 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 이 연구의 학술적·정책적 의의와 이 연구의 한계에 대해서 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship between the personal characteristics of military soldier and the thoughts of suicide during military service, analyze the role of military maladjustment, and make policy suggestions regarding military maladjustment and suicide based on the research results. A second analysis was conducted using 500 surveyed and collected data from 500 Army in 2015. As a result of analysis: 1) the personal characteristics of military officers had a positive correlation with suicidal thoughts. In other words, the higher the personal characteristics of military soldiers, the higher the personal growth potential, sociality, and emotional stability, the less suicidal thoughts; 2) the personal growth potential, personality, and emotional stability of the military service personnel were found to have a positive effect on military adaptation; 3) the higher the degree of military adaptation, the lower the suicidal ideation; 4) as a result of the structural causal model verification between the personal characteristics of military personnel, adaptation to military service, and suicidal ideation, it was found that military service adaptation completely mediates the relationship between personal characteristics and suicidal ideation. Finally, the academic and policy significance of this study and the limitations of this study were discussed.
