국문 초록

최근 우리나라의 다문화 혼인건수는 평균적으로 약 24,000건 이상으로 매년 다문화 가정이 증가하고 있다. 이런 국제결혼을 통해 국내에 이주한 여성의 수가 계속 증가하고 있으며 폭력범죄의 피해자도 증가하고 있다. 경찰관은 업무의 특성상 사회적으로 열등한 위치의 사람들과 접촉하게 되며 결혼이주여성도 그 대상 중에 하나이다. 경찰관이 특정 대상이나 집단에게 가지는 부정적 감정이나 편견은 법집행이나 수사과정에 많은 영향을 미치게 된다. 따라서 특정 집단에 대해 어떠한 인식을 가지고 있는지 여부는 매우 중요하다. 이 연구는 결혼이주여성에 대한 신임경찰관들의 인식을 사회적거리감으로 파악하고자 하였다. 설문조사를 통해 밝혀진 연구결과를 살펴보면 남녀 간의 인식에 차이가 존재했다. 또한 부정적 감정으로 인해 사회적 거리감이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 이처럼 신임경찰들이 그들에 대한 수용도가 낮다는 것은 결혼이주여성에 대한 이해도가 낮다는 것을 의미하며 법집행과정에서 부정적인 결과를 초래할 수 있음을 알 수 있다. 현재 중앙경찰학교에서 제공되는 교육훈련의 프로그램에 결혼이주여성에 대한 이해를 돕기 위해 몇 가지 제언을 하였다.

영문 초록

Recently, the number of multicultural marriages is about 24,000 on average. As such, multicultural families are increasing every year. As the number of women who migrated to Korea through international marriage increases, the number of violence victims is also increasing. Police officers contact with people who are socially inferior due to the nature of their work and women migrated by marriage are among them. The negative emotions or prejudices which police officers have on particular subject or group greatly impact on law enforcement and investigation process. Therefore, it is very important what kind of awareness for particular group they have. This study was to identify awareness of new police officers on women migrated by marriage with a social distance. Study results revealed through survey shows that there are differences in awareness between men and women. And social distance was low due to the negative emotions. As such, the low acceptability of new police officers on them means that they don t understand them well, and it may lead to negative results in law enforcement. We presented several suggestions in the education program which is currently provided to Central Police Academy to help them understanding women migrated by marriage.
