발생액의 질과 장래 사업계획 및 경영계획의 공시효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 공정공시 유형 중 하나인 장래 사업계획 및 경영계획 공시를 대상으로 단기주가반응과 장기성과를 살펴본다. 특히 회계정보 위험을 나타내는 발생액의 질이 공시효과와 장기성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가에 대하여 살펴본다. 장래 사업계획 및 경영계획 공시는 -5일 전부터 공시일까지 유의한 양의 초과수익률을 나타내어 공시에 대한 정보효과가 존재한다. 그러나 발생액의 질의 크기로 구분하였을 때 발생액의 질이 높은 기업과 낮은 기업간 공시효과의 차이는 존재하지 않는다. 반면, 발생액의 질이 높은 기업에서는 양의 장기성과가 나타나며 낮은 기업에서는 음의 장기성과를 보고한다. 뿐만 아니라 발생액의 질은 공시효과에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았지만 장기성과에는 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타난다. 이러한 연구결과는 투자자들은 회계정보의 질에 대하여 정확이 판단하고 있지 못하지만, 회계정보의 질을 통하여 공시 정보를 올바르게 해석할 수 있다면 정보위험을 회피할 수 있음을 나타내는 결과라 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

A This study is to examine short term stock return and long term return with disclosure of future business or management plans which is one of the fair disclosure types. Especially, this study focus on how accrual quality which explains accounting information risks effects on announcement and long term performance. The disclosure of future business or management plans reveals significant abnormal returns 5 days before the event day, and it means there is information effect. However, when it take a look into the size of accrual quality, there is no difference between high accrual quality (AQ) firms and low accrual quality (AQ) firms. On the other hand, high AQ firms reveals positive long therm stock return and low AQ firms reveals negative long term stock return. Moreover, it also explains AQ dose not have a decisive effect on the announcement, but it does on long term performance. In conclusion, this study result turns out that if investors understand quality of accounting information clearly through accounting information, they could avoid information risk.
