서울 서촌 산책의 미학적 해석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 요즈음 많은 도시 산책자들이 찾고 있는 서울 서촌을 EBS가 방영한 문화 다큐멘터리 <한국기행:문화예술기행제5 부>의 영상표현과 언술내용을 이용하여 미학적 관점에서 해석하는 데에 있다. 서촌의 골목길, 보안여관, 이상의 집과 대오서점이라는 장소를 이동하면서 식민지기와 개발독재 시대의 도시공간과 도시적 삶에 대한 지각방식, 그리고 미적 체험에 관한 모티브를 제시하고 있다. 보안여관과 ‘이상의 집’ 은 도시산책자이면서 관찰자인 식민지기 문인들이 경성이라는 근대 도시 공간을 그들의 작품에 어떻게 형상화하고 있는지에 대해 소개하고 있다. 이상에 관해서는 그의 작품 <날개>, <오감도제4 호>와 <오감도제1 호>를 소개하고 이상이 실제로 살았던 그의 백부 집의 장소성과 그의 작품과의 관련성을 제시하고 있다. 본 다큐의 핵심 주제의 하나인 골목은 도시 산책자들이 탈 근대적 공간인 서울에서의 충격체험을 완화시키려는 근대적 공간이며 이는 이상이 적응하지 못했던 경성의 현란한 도심에서의 체험을 막다른 골목에서 미적 모더니티로 승화시키는 것과 유사성을 갖는다. 에필로그에서는 김광석의 <두바퀴로가는자동차>와 이상의 <오감도시제1 호>를 제시함으로써 서촌의 장소성을시각( 영상과자막)과 청각( 음악)을 잘 배합하여 시청자로 하여금 효과적인 미적 경험을 가능하게 하였다.

영문 초록

This study is to interpret the walking tour at Seochṏon in Seoul from the aesthetic perspective. To do this end the author used the documentary which had been aired on EBS. The target documentary presented the motives of space, flaneur, and aesthetic experience of Japanese Colonial Seoul. The Boan Yeogwan and the House of Yi-sang indicated how the writers of Japanese Colonial Period embodied the space of Gyungsung in their novels and poems. The target documentary presented Yi-Sang’s novel and poems . The author illuminated the relationships between the Literature Memorial Space and the immanent meaning of the novel . The alley as a key theme of the documentary was a modern space where the present flaneur tried to alleviate the shock experience in the post-modern city, Seoul. This was tantamount to a sublimation of shock experience in the spectacular Gyungsung into an aesthetic modernity. The epilogue of the documentary effectively described the place identity of Sechon by presenting the well-mixed combination of image(Ogando: poetic sequence #1) and background music(A Car with Two Wheels), which led to the creation of an aesthetic experience.
