국문 초록

체험형 콘텐츠를 중심으로 하는 테마파크의 지속적 증가와 함께 수용자와의 상호작용을 강화하기 위해 스토리텔링 기법과의 결합이 중요시 되고 있다. 이러한 움직임 속에 안동의 유교랜드도 유교문화를 스토리텔링화한 테마파크형 체험센터를 목적으로 2013년 6월 개관하였다. 유교랜드는 테마파크에 스토리텔링을 접목시켜 유교문화에 대한 흥미로운 체험을 제공하고, 그 체험을 통해 유교문화에 대해 관람객 스스로 이해할 수 있도록 시도하였다. 이와 같은 유교랜드의 목적을 충족시키고, 장기적 존속과 발전을 위한 방향성을 모색하기 위해 유교랜드가 전면적으로 내세운 유교문화 스토리텔링이 공간에 적합하게 적용되어 있는지 검토해보고자 한다. 이를 위해 테마파크 스토리텔링 연출을 ‘테마설정- 테마구성- 테마연출’의 단계로 구분하고, 각 단계별 검토사항을 제시한 후 이에 맞추어 유교랜드의 스토리텔링을 분석하였다. 그 결과 테마의 구성과 연출에서 미흡한 점이 드러났다. 이러한 미흡한 점을 보완하기 위해 주테마에 대한 강한 인상남기기, 관람객의 능동적 참여 유도의 측면에서 발전방향을 제시해 보았다. 이는 유교랜드의 재방문과 신규방문을 유도할 수 있는 장기계획 수립에 있어서 유의미한 시사점을 제공해 줄 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Storytelling methodology is becoming more important with the continuous increase of active theme parks. Confucian Land in Andong is one of the theme parks, which opened in July 2013. The theme park was established to explain Confucian culture by offering audiences an interesting experience of Confucianism. This article examines how the storytelling of Confucian Land is planned properly to achieve the purpose of the theme park. In this research, the storytelling planning process for a theme park is divided into three steps: setting up, organizing, and directing a theme. Analyzing Confucian Land by these steps, it was said that there is no theme in Confucian Land. After that, a way to fix the problem was suggested. It would be to impress the audience about the main theme and lead them to play an active role while seeing the exhibition. It is expected that the results in this research offers meaningful solutions to establish a long-range plan of Confucian Land for an increase in the number of visitors.
