국문 초록

수학은 대학에서 교양필수 과목으로 제시되고 있으나 많은 학생들은 수학을 재미없고 잘 듣고 싶지 않아 한다. 학업에 대한 흥미가 없이는 결과적으로 학업성취도가 떨어지게 되기 마련이다. 본 연구는 이에 대한 처방으로서 PBL기반 Flipped Learning(이하 Flipped PBL Learning)을 적용하고자 하였다. Flipped PBL은 문제제시를 동영상으로 하며 수업 전 학생들이 학습할 내용에 흥미를 가지고 탐구하도록 유도하고, 실제 수업시간에는 동료들과 적극적인 토론과 참여가운데 학습하도록 하는 학습자중심의 교육방법이라 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 2016년 9월 22일부터 10월 27일까지 D대학교 신입생 중 특히 수학에 대한 기초개념이 부족한 학생 160명을 대상으로 하여 80명을 실험집단으로, 나머지 학생80명을 통제집단으로 나누었다. 실험집단은 Flipped PBL Learning방식으로 진행하고, 통제집단은 기존 Flipped learning에 따른 수업을 실시하였다. 이후 두 집단의 성찰일지를 통해 태도 및 흥미도 변화를 알아보았으며, 총 6개의 사전 사후 지필 시험결과를 활용하여 학업성취도를 비교분석하였다. 그 결과, 성찰일지분석에서 실험집단의 흥미도가 많이 향상되었고, 태도에도 긍정적인 변화가 있었다. 또한 학업성취도의 경우 통제 집단보다 실험집단이 평균 20점 이상 높게 나와 Flipped PBL learning수업을 적용한 집단의 결과가 더 교육적 효과도 높다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

Mathematics is presented as a compulsory course at university, but many students are reluctant to listen to mathematics comfortably, and if they are not interested in learning, they will lose their academic ability as a result. In this research, we tried to apply PBL-based Flipping Learning (hereinafter referred to as Flipped PBL Learning ) as a prescription for this. The Flipped PBL is a video presentation of the problem, so that students are interested in what they are learning before the lesson It can be used as a learner-centered teaching method by inducing students to participate in active discussion and participation with colleagues during actual class time. In the present study, We studied 160 students lacking the basic concepts of mathematics in D university from the September 22 to October 27 in 2016. 80 students were enrolled in the experimental group, and the other 80 students were enrolled in the control group. While the experimental group conducted Flipped PBL learning method, the control group conducted Flipped learning. Since then, We investigated change of the attitude and interest through the reflection journal and we also analyzed academic acheivement through results of 6 examination. As a result, the interest of the experimental group was greatly improved by reflection journal analysis, and there was a positive change in the attitude, too. It was also found that the results of the group that applied the Flipped PBL learning class were more effective than the control group in the case of the academic achievement.
