국문 초록

풍수는 한반도와 동북아시아 더 넓게는 동아시아의 공간 환경 특성을 반영한 지리적 지혜라고 할 수 있다. 특히 근대 이전에는 일상적 수준에서 공유해온 지리적 지혜 이상으로 학문적 패러다임을 갖춘 정상적인 지리학(normal geography)으로 유지되어 왔다. 본고에서는 풍수를 이렇듯 근대 이전 정상적으로 공유돼 온 공간에 대한 문화적 코드이자 전통지리로 전제하고 1310년 부평부(富平府) 등장 이후 거의 600년 이상 ‘부평(富平)’ 명칭을 가진 단일 행정구역으로 유지되어 온 조선시대 부평부의 역사적 장소성 구성과 관련해 읍치를 중심으로 풍수적 접근을 시도해 보았다. 본고에서는 풍수와 관련해 우선 부평부 읍치 국면이 지니는 공간적 중심성과 시원성에 주목하였다. 먼저 공간적 중심성은 계양산 아래 자리 잡은 부평부 읍치가 단지 지역 내에서 기하학적으로 가운데 위치를 차지하고 있다는 의미가 아니라 지역민들에게 풍수 상 가장 핵심적인 명당 국면으로 의미 구성됨을 말하는 것이다. 다음으로 부평부 읍치의 시원성은 산과 물로 대변되는 자연환경과 인간을 이어주는 연결고리가 다름 아닌 읍치임을 말하는 것이다. 이와 관련해 조선후기 각 군ㆍ현 읍치의 공간적 중심성과 시원성을 확보해주는 풍수적 매개체이자 풍수적 공간구성의 핵심요소로 부평부의 계양산과 같은 주산이자 진산에 주목할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

Fengshui has been a geographical wisdom that reflects the spatial and environmental characteristics of the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia more broadly. In particular, before modern times, it had been maintained as a normal geography with an academic paradigm beyond the geographic wisdom shared at the everyday level. In this paper, I assumed fengshui as a cultural code and traditional spatial epistemology that had been normally shared before modern times, and attempted to explore the spatial composition related to fengshui of Bupyeongbu-eupchi as the Korean traditional city. maintain it as a single administrative district named Bupyeong for more than 600 years after the appearance of Bupyeong-bu in 1310. In relation to the historical place composition of in the Joseon Dynasty, the feng shui approach was attempted. This paper first focused on the spatial centrality and origin of the Bupyeongbueupchi. First of all, spatial centrality means that Bupyeongbu-eupchi, which sits beneath Gyeyang Mountain, isn t geometrically located at the center in the region, but is composed of the most important Myeongdang location of fengshui for local people. Next, Bupyeongbu-eupchi s origin is to say that the link between the natural environment represented by mountains and water and human settlements is just eupch as the Korean traditional city. In this regard, it is necessary to pay attention to Jusan and Jinsan, such as Gyeyang Mountain in Bupyeongbu, as a fengshui medium that secures the spatial centrality and origin of each county and township in the late Joseon Dynasty.
