국문 초록

지역 민주화운동은 한국 사회에 전반적으로 큰 영향을 끼친 사건이다. 역사교육에서도 지역의 민주화운동에 대한 수업이 점차 강조되고 있다. 하지만 교과서가 가진 한계로 인해 민주화운동에 대한 복합적인 이해가 어렵고, 도식적인 구조 내에서만 사건을 이해하는데 그치기에 구술사와 같은 다양한 방법의 역사교육이 필요하다. 지역 구술 자료의 활용은 생생한 역사를 보여줄뿐 아니라 역사학계와의 협업 가능성을 열어준다. 그동안 역사학계와 역사교육계는 양 집단 간의 간극을 좁히려는 시도를 여러 차례 했다. 지역 구술 자료의 활용은 그러한 시도 중 하나이다. 지역 구술 자료의 적극적인 활용은 역사교육의 다양한 방법론의 개발과 실제 수업현장에서의 활용으로 이어질 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The local democratization movement is an event that has had a huge impact on Korean society in general. Therefore, classes on democratization movement in the region are increasingly emphasized in history education. However, the various limitations of textbooks have problems that hinder a complex understanding of the democratization movement and only make the case understandable within the schematic structure. Therefore, in order to overcome these limitations, history education with using various methods is necessary. The using of verbal materials has the advantage of showing a more vivid history and opens the possibility of collaboration with the history academia. History and history education academia have made several attempts to narrow the gap between the two groups. The using of local verbal materials is one of those attempts. Through the active using of local verbal materials, various methodologies of history education will be developed and utilized in the actual classes.
