물길로 해석한 한성부 도시공간구조

국문 초록

서울 역사도심(한성부)의 도로는 상당부분 옛 지형을 따라 흐르던 물길이었으며 물길이라는 지리요소는 한성부 도시공간형성에 많은 영향을 미쳤다. 도시공간은 땅의 형태와 물 그리고 바람 등 자연환경요소에 기초되어 형성되는데, 서울 역사도심(한성부)은 자연환경, 특히 물길에 순응하여 도시가 계획되고 형성, 변천된 역사도심으로서 의미를 갖는다. 본 연구는 서울 역사도심(한성부) 공간구조의 기원 및 변화를 지리차원에서 바라보기 위하여 『1915년 朝鮮地形圖集成』을 디지털 자료로 복원, 분석함으로써 조선후기 한성부의 미세지형과 수계를 도출하였다는데 그 의미가 있다. 고지도를 활용하여 복원한 지리자료를 기초로 한성부 물리적 환경 형성과 변천의 주요한 지리요소인 물길이 미치는 구체적인 사례를 실증함으로써 한성부의 공간구조를 이해하고 오늘날의 서울 역사도심의 정체성과 나아가야 할 방향을 제시하기 위한 기초연구로 활용될 수 있다.

영문 초록

Many of the roads in the historical center of Seoul (Hanseong-bu) used to flow along the old topography, and the geographical features of the stream greatly influenced the formation of urban space in Hanseong-bu. Most urban areas are formed based on natural environmental factors such as the shape of the land, water and wind, especially the historical center of Seoul (Hanseong-bu) is meaningful as a historical city that plans, forms and changes the city by adapting to the natural environment, especially the water way. This research is meaningful in that the origin and change of the spatial structure of the historical center of Seoul (Hanseong-bu) was derived by restoring and analyzing 朝鮮地形圖集成(2015) to derive the microgeography and mathematics of Hanseong-bu in the latter part of the Jo-seon Dynasty. Based on the geographical data restored using high-altitude, it can be used as a basic study to understand the space structure of Hanseong-bu and present the identity and direction of today’s Seoul city center by demonstrating specific examples of water roads, which are the main geographical factors in forming and changing the physical environment of Hanseong-bu.
