다문화 청소년의 사회적 지지 프로파일에 따른 심리사회적 적응 및 학업성취의 차이

국문 초록

이 연구는 국내 중학교 2학년에 재학 중인 다문화 가정 청소년들이 가족, 교사, 또래, 이웃으로부터 받는 사회적 지지 프로파일을 탐색하고, 프로파일 집단에 따라 다문화 청소년의 심리사회적 적응과 학업 성취에 유의한 차이가 나타나는지를 확인하고자 수행되었다. 다문화청소년종단조사 5차년도에 참여한 중학교 2학년 1,347명을 대상으로 잠재프로파일분석(LPA)을 실시한 결과, ‘높은 지지형’, ‘높은 또래지지형’, ‘중간수준 지지형’, ‘낮은 지지형’, ‘매우 낮은 또래지지형’의 5개 프로파일 모형이 최종 모형으로 선정되었다. 네가지 지지원 중 특히 또래로부터 받는 지지의 수준은 프로파일들의 특징을 나타내는 중요한 역할을 담당하였다. 일원변량분석 결과 사회적 지지 프로파일에 따라 다문화 청소년들의 삶의 만족도, 문화적응스트레스, 사회적 위축, 학교생활적응, 학업성취 등에 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 먼저 ‘높은 지지형’은 모든 영역에서 가장 적응적인 결과를 나타냈다. 또한, 또래로부터의 지지를 상대적으로 높게 지각하는 ‘높은 또래지지형’은 또래관계가 중요한 영향을 미칠 수 있는 사회적 위축이나 또래 관계 적응 등에서 긍정적인 결과를 나타냈다. 한편 또래로부터의 지지를 유독 낮게 지각하는 ‘매우 낮은 또래지지형’은 다양한 적응 측면과 학업성취에 있어 가장 부적응적인 결과를 나타냈다. 마지막으로 연구결과가 주는 교육적·정책적 시사점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore profiles of perceived social support among adolescents in multicultural families in Korea and to examine how their profiles relate to their psychosocial adjustment and academic achievement. The study focused on four different sources of social support: family, teachers, friends, and neighborhood. A total of 1,347 middle school students who had participated in the 5th Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study were the sample of this study. As a result of the Latent Profile Analysis(LPA), a five-profile model of ‘high support’, ‘high peer support’, ‘moderate support’, ‘low support’, ‘very low peer support’ was selected as a final model. There were significant differences in students’ life satisfaction, acculturative stress, social withdrawal, school adjustment, and academic achievement depending of the profiles. The ‘high support’ profile showed the most adaptive results in all areas. The ‘high peer support’ group with relatively high perceptions of peer support showed positive results in social withdrawal and peer relation adjustment where peers can play an important role. Meanwhile, the ‘very low peer support’ group showed the most maladaptive results in various aspects of psychosocial adjustment and academic achievement. The implications of the results for policy and practice were discussed at the end.
