유가변화가 아웃바운드 관광수요에 미치는 영향 : 비대칭적 반응을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 유가 또는 환율과 같은 거시경제변수가 아웃바운드 관광수요에 미치는 비대칭 적인 영향을 분석하였다. ARDL 한계검정을 통해 거시경제변수들과 아웃바운드 관광수요와의 장기적인 균형관계를 검증하고, 거시환경의 변화에 따른 관광수요의 비대칭적 반응을 분석하기 위해 Threshold 회귀모형을 이용하였다. 국제유가와 환율은 장·단기적으로 아웃바운드 관광수요에 유의한 음의 영향을 미치고, 조정계수는 –0.392로 나타났다. Threshold 모형 분석을 통해 아웃바운드 관광 수요가 소득, 환율, 그리고 국제유가의 변화에 대해 비대칭적 으로 반응하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 특히 국제유가의 비대칭적 효과는 두드러졌다. 환율이 높거나 유가가 낮은 경우에 유가상승은 관광수요에 부정적인 영향을 미치지만, 환율이 낮거나 유가가 높은 경우에 유가상승은 관광수요에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes the asymmetric effects of macroeconomic variables such as international oil prices and exchange rates on the korean outbound tourism demand. The ARDL bounds test confirms the cointegration relation of the outbound tourism demand model, and the error correction model is used to analyze the short-term dynamics, and the threshold regression model is employed to analyze the asymmetric response of tourism demand to the macro environment changes. International oil prices and exchange rates have negative impacts on international tourism demand in the short and long term, and the adjustment coefficient is –0.392. The outbound tourism demand responded asymmetrically to changes in income, exchange rates and international oil prices. In particular, the asymmetric effect of oil prices has been remarkable. While oil prices have a negative impact on tourism demand in the case of high exchange rates or low oil prices, oil prices have a positive impact on tourism demand if the exchange rates are low or oil prices are high.
