국문 초록

개성공단은 한반도의 지리, 역사적 주요 결절지역이었던 개성의 입지적 특성을 이어받아 남북 경협의 가능성을 보여준 사례이다. 남북 관계의 변동에 따라 순조롭게 운영되지 않았던 기간도 많았지만, 여전히 개성공단은 남북 간의 연대 가능성을 보여주는 주요 상징 지표로 간주되고 있다. 개성공단의 공간은 남한의 기술과 자본, 북한의 노동력뿐만 아니라 두 국가 간의 끊임없는 제도적 진화 과정에 의해 남북의 접촉지대로 만들어졌다. 이 글은 개성공단의 공간 분석을 통해 상호 간의 공간적 사고가 전달, 수용되는 과정들이 반복될 때, 평화적 가치들이 공유될 수 있는 기회가 증진될 수 있다는 것을 보여주고자 한다.

영문 초록

The Gaesong industrial complex which has inherited the geographical and historical characteristics of Gaesong, demonstrates the possibility of inter-Korean economic cooperation, a major nodding region on the Korean Peninsula. There have also been many periods when inter-Korean relations have not been running smoothly due to political fluctuations, but the complex is still considered a major symbol of alliance between the two Koreas. The spatial features of the complex were created by a constant institutional evolution process between the two countries, as well as the proper combination of South Korean capital, technology and the North s workforce. This article aims to show that when spatial thinking for the unification of Korea is shared and accepted, the opportunity for common peaceful values can be enhanced.
