서울지역 마을신앙의 변화 양상

국문 초록

서울지역에는 100여개의 마을신앙이 전승되고 있다. 서울지역 마을신앙은 한국전쟁, 새마을운동, 도시재개발로 소멸되기도 했지만, 마을주민들의 의지로 재건되어 전승되고 있다. 마을신앙은 공동체 통합과 전통문화 계승이라는 목적으로 토박이에 의해 전승되었지만, 최근에는 마을주민이 함께 전승하는 지역문화사업으로 변화되고 있다. 서울지역 마을신앙은 한강 주변 부군당을 중심으로 연구되었고, 행정구역 확장으로 부군당제·도당제·산신제 같이 제의명칭과 신격이 다양해졌다. 제의형태는 제의비용과 자치단체장·지역유지의 참여로 인해 유교제의와 무속제의가 혼합되었다. 한강 주변으로 많은 마을이 형성되어 있지만, 생업의 변화로 인해 물과 관련된 신앙은 전승되지 않는다. 서울지역의 마을제당은 성역화된 공간에서 마을주민들이 휴식을 취할 수 있는 공원화된 공간으로 변화되고 있다. 이러한 변화는 지자체에서 마을제당을 마을경관 조성사업의 일부로 인식한 결과이다. 마을제의에 여성이 제관으로 참여하는 사례가 늘어나고 있다. 이러한 모습은 유교식 제의에 참여하는 지자체장이 여성이거나 지역단체장이 여성이 늘어남에 따라 생겨난 변화이다. 그러나 여성이 제관으로 참여해도 제관복식은 여전히 남성의 복식을 착용하고 있다. 마을신앙이 마을축제에 포함되면서 놀거리·볼거리·먹거리를 중심으로 한 마을축제에 마을신 앙 의례를 포함시켜 현대적인 문화에 역사적인 전통을 접목시킨 마을축제로 발전 시키고 있다. 마을축제화되면서 종교적 신성성은 약화되었으나, 축제적 유흥성은 강화되었다.

영문 초록

There are about 100 different villages in Seoul. Although the village shrine in Seoul was destroyed by the Korean War, the movement of Saemaeul, and urban redevelopment, it was rebuilt with the will of the villagers and was passed down. Although the village belief was handed over by native villagers for the purpose of community integration and succession to traditional culture, it has recently been transformed into a local cultural project that is passed on by villagers together. The Seoul-based village shrine was mainly studied by the minor parties around the Han River, and the expansion of the administrative district has diversified the name and status of proposals such as the minor party system, the provincial government and the mountain new party system. The proposed form was mixed with Confucian and shamanistic rites due to the cost of the proposal, the participation of the head of local governments, and regional support. Although many villages are formed around the Han River, the water-related beliefs are not handed down due to the change in living conditions. The village shrine in Seoul is being transformed into a park where villagers can relax. This change is the result of the local government s recognition of the village shrine as part of the townscape project. More women are joining the village rite. This is a change caused by a female head of local governments participating in the Confucian proposal or an increasing number of female heads of local governments. However, even though women participate as priests, the uniform still wears men s clothing. With the village belief being included in the festival, the festival is developing into a village festival that incorporates historical traditions into a modern culture by including a village rite centered on play, viewing and eating. Religious sacredness was weakened by the festival, but the festival entertainment was strengthened.
