복지관 이용 노인이 인식하는 심리사회적 요인이 자살생각에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 인천지역 노인복지시설을 이용하는 만 65세 이상의 남‧여 노인들의 심리사회적 요인(고독감, 사회적지지) 및 스트레스 인식이 노인이 인식하는 자살생각에 미치는 영향정도를 설명하기 위해, 그리고 그 과정에서 자기효능감의 매개효과 및 조절효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 따라서 본 연구의 이론적, 실천적, 정책적 함의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 본 연구는 복지 시설이용노인들의 자살생각 감소를 유도하는데 있어서 자기효능감의 매개효과를 실증하였다는데 학문적 의의가 있다. 둘째, 본 연구는 노인들의 고독감을 낮추기 위한 복지관에서의 다양한 프로그램 실천 및 활동이 노인에 대한 자살생각 감소를 유도하는데 있어서 자기효능감의 매개효과를 실증하였다는데 학문적 의의가 있다. 셋째, 본 연구는 노인들의 사회적 지지를 향상시키기 위한 다양한 실천 노력이 복지시설 이용노인에 대한 자살생각 감소를 유도하는데 있어서 자기효능감의 매개효과 및 조절효과를 실증하였다는데 학문적 의의가 있다. 넷째, 본 연구는 노인들의 스트레스를 낮추기 위한 복지관에서의 다양한 실천 프로그램 및 활동 노력이 복지시설 이용노인에 대한 자살생각 감소를 유도하는데 있어서 자기효능감의 매개효과 및 조절효과를 실증하였다는데 학문적 의의가 있다. 다섯째, 인천지역의 복지시설 이용노인의 고독감 및 스트레스 해소 및 사회적 지지와 자기효능감의 상승은 자살생각을 낮추는 효과를 가져와 결국은 클라이언트인 노인들의 양질의 서비스를 제공하는 고객 지향성을 갖게 되고, 고객 지향성은 다시 노인 복지시설의 다양한 복지 프로그램을 통해 이용노인에게 최적화된 프로그램을 실천하게 되는 선순환 구조를 가지게 되어 인천 및 사회복지 시설 본연의 임무인 사회적 책임을 다하게 된다. 그러므로 본 연구는 노인의 자살예방을 위한 프로그램의 개발과 운영시스템 구축을 위한 실천 가이드라인을 제시할 때에 유용한 자료로 제시하고자한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of perceived psychosocial factors(loneliness and social support) and perceived stress on suicide intention in 65-year-old or older male and female elderly users of senior welfare centers in the region of Incheon and the mediating and moderating effects of self-efficacy in that process. The theoretical, practical and political implications of the study were as follows: First, this study is of academic significance in that it demonstrated the mediating effects of self-efficacy in terms of inducing elderly users of welfare centers to weaken their suicide intention. Second, this study is of academic significance in that it demonstrated the mediating effects of self-efficacy in terms of inducing senior citizens to lessen their suicide intention through various welfare center programs and activities that aim at lowering the loneliness of the elderly. Third, this study is of academic significance in that it demonstrated the mediating effects and moderating effects of self-efficacy in terms of inducing elderly welfare center users to weaken their suicide intention through diverse practical efforts of increasing social support for them. Fourth, this study is of academic significance in that it demonstrated the mediating effects and moderating effects of self- efficacy in terms of inducing elderly welfare center users to lessen their suicide intention through various practical welfare center programs and activities geared toward lowering their stress. Fifth, relieving the loneliness and stress of elderly welfare center users in the region of Incheon and boosting their social support and self-efficacy contribute to creating customer orientation that is to offer quality services for senior citizens who are clients, and customer orientation makes it possible, in turn, to provide them with the best programs tailored to them among a variety of welfare programs in senior welfare centers. Thus, there is a virtuous circle, which enables Incheon and social welfare facilities to fulfill their social responsibilities that are their substantial missions. Accordingly, practical guidelines should be presented in detail to develop programs geared toward bolstering social support and self-efficacy and set up an operating system. Therefore, this study is intended to provide useful data in presenting practical guidelines for the development of programs for preventing suicide of senior citizens and the establishment of operating systems.
