국문 초록

  하워드 클라인벨(1922-2005)은 현대 목회상담과 영성 분야에서 탁월한 업적은 남긴 신학자이며 사상가이다. 클라인벨은 특히 종교와 웰빙의 관련 연구에 깊은 관심을 보였는데, 본 연구는 웰빙과 전인성의 관점에서 클라인벨의 생태요법을 종설하고, 그의 생태치료가 성장상담 측면에서 생태상담과 어떤 관련을 갖는지 탐색하는 데 목적을 두었다.
  본 연구를 통해 클라인벨의 생태치료는 다음과 같이 세 가지로 종합할 수 있는데, 첫째, 온전성과 웰빙에 있어서 클라인벨은 영을 고쟁이에 두고 마음, 몸, 관계, 일, 놀이, 세계의 7가지 차원이 그물처럼 연결되는 유기적 통합을 통해 온전성의 원리를 제시하였다. 둘째, 온전성 원리에 바탕을 둔 클라인벨의 생태적 각성은 생태요법으로 이어졌는데, 클라일벨의 생태요법은 세 가지 경험적 차원(초월추구, 내면추구, 외면추구)으로 생태적 순환의 의미를 밝히는 것이었다. 셋째, 클라인벨의 생태요법에 바탕을 이루는 사상은 "궁휼" 임을 밝혔다. 클라인벨에게 있어서 궁휼은 시혜적인 차원이 아니라 더불어 살아가는 상생의 철학이자, "가난한 이를 위한 우선적 선택"이라는 기독교 사회윤리와 일맥상통하였다.
  본 연구를 통해 연구자는 클라인벨의 생태요법과 생태상담을 서로 관련지워 한국적 목회상담에 유용한 성장상담 프로그램의 가능성를 탐색해 봄으로써 목회상담의 토착화 방향을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

  Howard Clinebell(1922-2005) was a distinguished theologist and thinker for modern pastoral counseling and spirituality. He was more interested in the religion and wellbeing. He had explored how deeply and passionately we cared for the christian wellbeing, for the health of the natural, and for peace and justice in all creation.
  This study was focused on the review of Clinebell"s ecotherapy based on wellbeing and wholeness, explored how did it relate to ecological counseling from the viewpoint of growth counseling.
  Through this study, I came to synthesize the Clinebell"s ecotherapy. First, Wellbeing is a living, growing, ever-changing organic process that need intentional self-care for optimal healing and wholeness. Wellbeing is enhanced by balancing better in 7 dimensions-spirit(core), mind, body, relationships, work, play, and the Earth-. The seven dimensions symbolized by the two image(a flower and an atom). They are interdependent, integrated and organic facets of wholeness. Ultimately, Clinebell"s wholeness is for Holiness.
  Second, The ecological circle experience is valuable in the Clinebell"s ecotherapy. It is composed interdependently of the three dimensions-upreach, inreach, outreach-. In relation to the environment, upreach refers to the energizing spiritual awareness, inreach means opening ourselves, outreach means participating with others in action. Hence, the ecotherapy aims at enabling people to gain the insights, motivation and skills to experience the transforming energy of all three dimensions of the ecological circle.
  Third, "Compassioning" is based on the Clinbell"s ecotherapy. Compassionig is not pity which connotes condescension in Clinbell"s thought. Ecotherapy should emphasize choosing "the preferential options for the poor". Clinebell had compassion on child, the poor, homosexual, disabled people and moaning of nature.
